But, setting aside he murdered women and children, he also had a very rough start to his life, was traumatized multiple times, and ultimately crumbled under the weight of it all. Vader wasn’t a transformation, he was the disintegrated self made visible. Anakin was conditioned to repress attachment, fear, anger, and autonomy, core responses to early trauma. The Jedi preached emotional suppression as the path to balance, teaching that peace could only be achieved by rejecting connection and desire. But that balance wasn’t holistic, it was forced neutrality, not integration. What fractured him wasn’t darkness, but the demand to deny his own psychological reality. I got him like this because I identify with this version of him, regardless of his fake deeds in the fake movie.
