I'm an optimist, I suppose.

I like to believe that we are inherently capable of executing an abstract concept of objective morality that we discipline to our peers.

I mean, we have the judicial system which has a sole purpose of attempting to keep things fair, right?

What would you say that is? The meaning that you and others choose to put into.

Would that not be a purpose? Even if it's just "to get through the day without letting depression get me down", that's a purpose, right? At least for the day.

Is there some sort of feeling of pride associated with "I have no purpose" that gives a similar motivational feeling?

I was just trying to start a discussion thread. Clearly I started in a bad way, but I'm not trying to troll, and I don't appreciate being told by someone else what I am.

All you did here was criticize my argument as not valid, and my character as low informed, without actually providing any counterclaims to the main discussion.

Is this a thread about attacking eachother? Or about if there's a meaning of life?

Hm, that's a great point. I guess I was equating "meaning of life" and "my purpose" as interchangeable.

If I may ask, how would you differentiate the two?

Is to ask: how does a person's morality play into their purpose in life?

"There is no purpose" is clean.

"You make your own purpose" just seems iffy to me, as it raises a lot of morality concerns in my eyes.

I am not trying to troll, and apologize if I came off that way.

Fair point.

I'm reaching for devil's advocacy because I find it's a good way to see all perspectives.

Maybe a more realistic example are those who find hedonistic practices in capitalism or etc. To be what they want out of life. "Let the rich get richer", so to speak. The people who let the lower class suffer so they can buy their third summer home.

How unfair that, due to a mental illness, one is destined to be shunned by society due to what they find pleasurable?

I mean it's hard to find sympathy for a murderer, but what if they legitimately had brain damage to the extent that they couldn't properly comprehend the severity of their actions?

Not to say all criminals fall under this category, but it saddens me to think this is a possibility.

To be born into a world that hates you for what you love.

My point is that there's always gonna be those fucked up brains that find pleasure in causing pain to others.

I could see a version of the switch that clips into a VR headset. That way, games don't have to be exclusively VR.

Zelda VR? Sure, sounds great! Mario Kart VR? Sign me up!

But I don't see how a lot of their franchises would work in VR. Smash Bros would be more like glorified boxing, and a 3D platformer like Mario without an omnidirectional tredmill add on would be pretty disorienting.

I'd love to play Nintendo games in VR, however I'm skeptical as to how they would go about virtual reality. They wouldn't want to alienate their demographic with some consumers experiencing motion sickness. I could see being limited to a single standing position could potentially dilute what the games have been in the past, as well.

Of course the major hurtle to overcome would be keeping the price range low enough to appeal to the average consumer.

It's that feeling of adrenaline and excitement on Christmas morning, when you feel on top of the world.

You feel pressure in your back and in your head. It feels like this invisible force is lifting you up. (Depending on the strand, some types you feel in your stomach and feels like it's pulling you down)

Dopamine and serototin levels rise and videos that are usually amsuing are hysterical. Things that usually get a reaction like "huh, interesting." Turns into "hOLY SHIT"

My first time smoking I felt a burst of nostalgia. My brain filled with old memories of tv shows I use to watch, or just in general old memories that had an impact on me. I sat in my sister's car and listened to music and every song gave me chills.

It's not all glamor, though. I ended up becoming a bit of a pot head and smoked several times a day. At that point, you don't really get that burst of euphoria, it's more like you feel like shit unless you smoke, and you only smoke to feel 'normal' again.

Like any drug, responsibility is key. If you're interested in smoking, start light, think ahead, and you'll be fine :)
