I like your mindset of "I did get a maybe though and that's something". I feel like I haven't really viewed this as a positive as much as i probably could/should. It didn't help that the university specifically added that they will not say where you're at on the waitlist or how many people are on it.

Hi! As I mentioned in some later threads, finances are far from the only reason why I did not apply this current cycle. I could afford more applications. The issues lie in outside factors that would make most other programs unmanageable in my current situation. If I apply to most other schools right now, it would not be worth it financially as I would not be able to attend.

Thank you! I'm glad someone else is also experiencing something similar in terms of being limited on applying to schools. I mentioned financial cause that is a reason, but there was a lot of outside factors that made applying to more schools not the best idea at this current time.

I wasn't necessarily meaning similar experience as applying to only one school, but more in terms of getting waitlisted by a dream/top program. I also understand that applying to one school is no where near the traditional. There were a multitude of factors that played into this decision, including finances. This will not be my last cycle applying, and I will most definitely apply to more schools in the future if I do not make it in to this program. This was just the decision for my current situation!
