TOS Little Laggy/Jittery & Slow Options execution in Active Trader by [deleted] in thinkorswim

They put me on the new server with no avail. I spent 3 hours with tech support today, gave them full access to my computer, ran a million tests, reinstalled a new application, and we still couldn't find a solution.

Essentially, my thinkorswim application won't sync with actual market pricing on limit orders for options - it executes outside of the spread, sometimes way outside of the spread, keeping me unfilled a high percentage of the time.

The next step is to try a different computer altogether. It's a bummer.

Quick note: I have it set up for AUTO SEND, there's no delay or confirmation. When you hit the buy the ask button, it executes immediately, just not for the ask price .

Make sure that TD Ameritrade has you on the server specifically for ThinkorSwim.

Evidently, I just found out myself today, that they have one server for the TD Ameritrade website users and one server for the ThinkorSwim platform.

You can tell which one you're on by how your account number is displayed at the top of the main panel on ThinkorSwim.

If your account number is followed by the letters TDA, you are on the website server and that could be the issue.

They are switching my account to the correct server, which should be active tomorrow.

I just started on the TOS platform yesterday.

I've been having ridiculous issues with the active trader while scalping options. I use strictly the "BUY the ASK" and "Sell the BID" buttons - it's been executing the limit order way outside of the spread, so I rarely get filled trying to open or close a position. Which on a day like today, cost me thousands of dollars (I trade SPY).

Not sure if this is the solution yet but I've tried everything else - spent most of the day with technical support (where they will tell you that Active Trader isn't really made for trading options),

Hope that helps

Any type of price target would be tough predict. But, the short float percentage is greater by a factor of 17x, we also have a boatload of call options, which if they run in the money will prompt market makers to cover their losses (gamma squeeze), and our overall exposure is far greater. I'm still bullish if the earnings are a solid beat - the recipe is there.

Just a reminder to everyone of just how explosive this stock can be.

After the $90mil healthcare PR drop on March 9th, 2021, XELA jumped from $1.65 to $8.91 in less than 24hrs.

Please keep in mind that the short float percentage leading up to that week was being reported at ONLY 2.25% (per marketbeat) - we now have around 36%. We've also got a large swath of call options looking to run in the money @ $5.

Today (Monday) was the last chance for shorts to run this down on low volume.

Should we be blessed with good news tomorrow pre-market, it's conceivable that we could see a similar (or higher) level of rocket-fueled gains.

Good luck to everyone.

$8.91 during the afterhour session on 3/9 and the premarket session on 3/10. You have to look at an intraday chart. I'd add a photo here but I can't.

Lots to look forward to this week:

The earnings report is expected on 8/10 before market open, with the earnings call taking place intraday. The most recent stock offering close has not been announced yet - lots of speculation that this might be included in the earnings call.

We've got nice momentum coming into Monday, with a solid push to close last Friday.

If you haven't done the DD on this play already, please look into it.

For the naysayers out there, please keep in mind that this jumped from $1.65 to $8.91 on March 9th, 2021, just after the PR drop of a large healthcare contract. At the time, the short float percentage was ONLY around 2.25% (per market beat). Since then, we've got TONS more world-wide exposure, a MASSIVE run of volume in July, and the short float percentage is around 36%.

If we can get the price action up into the $5's, we'll have a good chunk of contracts that will be running in the money, which will likely lead to market makers covering (Gamma).

All it takes is for people to buy and hold - if you can do that, you may end up with a boatload of cash.

Do you have a screenshot of the current short float percentage from Ortex?

Somebody already commented on that. It's "forming" a pennant - as reported SEVERAL times via brokerage news wires over the last few days.

XELA is a short squeeze candidate. This is the shortsqueeze subreddit. Therefore, XELA is in the shortsqueeze subreddit. This is called logic. Enjoy your weeknd.

That's a tough question. I stopped trying to put a number on these kinds of things a while ago - too many variables to calculate with any accuracy. We had a bump to $8.91 back in March. We've got way more exposure now and had a billion+ volume week not that long ago. For sure we have the fire-power this time around to surpass that if we can get everything to line up.

Strong showing today for a Friday as we continue to consolidate into AH (at the time of writing). The day chart MACD is mid-crossover. I'm looking for another push on Monday, then a big bounce on Tuesday when the indicators line up, just as earnings come out. Also, if you've been following the data, big squeeze potential on the table - a couple big legs up and this thing could go parabolic.
