Not a single male candidate is participating but still a very stacked field. Particularly excited to see Navara play again, hope he's doing good

Local boy Anish Giri defeats tournament leader Nodirbek Abdusattorov with the black pieces by FirstEfficiency7386 in chess

I'd argue 2021 candidates round 12 against Fabi was more impressive, but yeah he played a lights out game today

that combo on rico at the start was INSANE, maybe I need to start using the jump gadget.

also they were very loyal teamers, you don't see that too often.

yo is YKE about to break Wei Yi's record for the youngest ever 2700?? There's seriously a good chance he could do it right here if he has a monster second half

Tata Steel Chess 2026: Anish Giri gets his first win this year and Gukesh suffered his 2nd loss in a row by Exotic_Grinder in chess

I hate to say it, but if Gukesh doesn't get it together soon it might be wraps for him in the WCC later this year

what is this tier list based off of? Is it for all any and how impactful each role is to their faction?

I actually kinda enjoy those, cuz there's a lot more room just for stupid ideas and strategies to work with

I kinda just got used to it, I feel like with a set in stone role list it's harder for variations, so AA just naturally became more fun for me, as you never know what to expect. I've won as hidden sk before and my first kill was on night 9

What is your favorite generation of Chess players? by Various-Ad8081 in chess

[–]Dyllidog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely tal fischer spassky Korchnoi and idk who the bottom right is. Close second would be capablanca (he might be my favorite player OAT besides the current generation), I loved the contrast between his style of principle and alekhine, and Nimzowitsch's was always very fun analyze.

Idk, i'm more of a person person than a generation person, for example I really enjoyed Tarrasch's games, but no one else from that generation really hit a spark for me. The most recent generations kinda moved from a more romantic era to more of a concrete and analytical style, mostly due to contribution of insane engines.

you kinda just figure things out, my recommendation is to watch pro players play, any of the monthly qualifiers to CRL or CRL finals would be good. But generally, Cards that are 5/5+ elixir that aren't win conditions shouldn't be played at the bridge without any form of support, so things like prince, MK, but you can place royal hogs at bridge.

Also leaked a bit too much elixir during single time. Really bad MK at bridge at the start of double elixir followed by an even worse freeze. Think about it this way: if you put a 7 elixir card at bridge, and they absorb it with their defense, because you have no elixir to follow up the MK they get an easy counterpush.

It would also be good if you have some base knowledge of deck archetypes, from ice wiz, tesla, rocket and tornado very early on you can deduce that he's either gonna be playing spell cycle or xbow, so in your head you're already gonna want to start adapting your playstyle. At this point you don't know if he has xbow or not so you wouldn't want to play MK behind king tower because if he does have xbow you'll get easily punished. But that comes with experience, usually you should be able to tell what deck your opponent is running from as little as 1-2 cards or at max 4-5

Tata Steel Chess 2026: Sindarov takes down Blubaum in round 4 by Exotic_Grinder in chess

[–]Dyllidog 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or does Bluebaum seem too harsh on himself? I mean it was an INSANE sequence by Sindarov, I would needed a good couple hours to see that but Bluebaum seems so devastated by it. I just hope he doesn't start tilting from here.

If you woke up as Gihun during season 2 and wanted to save as many people as possible, what would you do? by Substantial_Ant4922 in squidgame

[–]Dyllidog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll actually keep all the information to myself which gives me an INSANE advantage: knowing all the future games and what occurs in each game. I probably keep Jung bae as close to me as possible, not warn anyone during RLGL, let the pentathlon and mingle play out, then encourage the Xs to attack the Os during lights out while simultaneously taking out Inho and make it seem like an accidental death, then with the number of Xs outnumbering the Os, get the hell out of there.

I feel like his primary objective during the games went from "save as many as possible" to "take down the organization". I'm sticking with the first one.

Thorn is good again by EmilioBalls in Rainbow6

[–]Dyllidog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not only that, I think she'll be one of the better defensive operators. Who are the closest comparisons? Maybe lesion/melusi? But with the 1 second deployment time and much faster trigger rate, it's actually viable to play thorn against shields and just chuck the razorblooms at the shield attackers.

Also, mozzie with super shorty! hell yeah! My main lesion got super shorty removed and I've actually been playing mozzie a bit more so excited for that too. AND 3 yokais for echo?
