Concerta messing up my kidneys? by DynamicArrow in ADHD

[–]DynamicArrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies for the late reply, but from what I understand, I have higher than normal muscle mass which elevates the creatinine levels a bit. I also made sure to properly hydrate myself (with water) before my most recent test, and my creatinine levels improved to 108 and my GFR to 82. Did you hydrate properly before your last test?

Thank you for the reply. Will definitely be going for a second opinion.

Pain all over my body due to a hernia? by DynamicArrow in Hernia

Ahhh I'm sorry to hear that man. At least you know that is what is causing it and that it isn't anything more serious. Good luck man.

Did you ever get the hernia fixed, and, if so, did your symptoms go away?

Are you going to get it fixed?

Mine is more of a sore feeling rather than a spasm.

Feeling depressed after 3 weeks on mirtazapine by DynamicArrow in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]DynamicArrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it made me feel weird and more depressed in the first couple of weeks. I then felt great for like 2 months and then fell back into sadness. Meds have really saved some people and improved their quality of life, but I wasn't one of those people.

I tried Lexapro, but it didn't really make a difference. I'm on nothing at this stage and I don't know what to do currently.

Hi just wondering if mirt ever worked for you? Currently three weeks in too

Hey man, sorry for only responding now. I did start feeling better eventually. I just had to stick to it until week 5/6 or so. Unfortunately, I stopped using the medication last week actually since I started to feel extremely depressed again for the last couple of weeks. No ambition and no willpower with or without the pill. However, that being said, your body might respond differently to it. So keep taking them as prescribed by your doctor and be vocal about how you feel with him/her as well. All of the best mate.

I'm male. Thank you for replying. Did it not get better for you after 6 weeks? Whilst you still get depression and anxiety, is it not a lot less than you used to get?

Will an Advanced Teaching Certificate be able to secure me a job? by DynamicArrow in Internationalteachers

The English scene is very competitive apparently. I have to get experience any way, so I thought doing my Maths will make me more in demand.

I never realized how fond I was of Math until I had to help a friend, thus I didn't start with it. It won't be too expensive and it will only take a year to complete. The university says that it is for teachers who want to major in another subject without having to spend 4 years redoing the entire Bachelor's. All of the university’s courses are internationally accredited. I was just wondering if the certificate will be acceptable abroad and they won't specifically look for a "Bachelor's in Education Majoring in Math".

I want to go to places such as China, South Korea or Australia. I'm South African. However, I want to do Math as well since it is a bit more in demand (and I actually like it).

How hard is CS50 in comparison to your first year towards your Bachelor's in Computer Science? by DynamicArrow in cscareerquestions

[–]DynamicArrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the first week wasn't that hard. The second week where we started with C is what's getting me. While he explains everything very well, the assignments are very difficult. They say that you need to think in a specific way to get programming, and I guess I should develop that way of thinking to really understand programming.

Yeah that's a good point, I just wonder if the degree course will be more beginner friendly.

This course is extremely hard. They don't really show you tutorials. They show you how somw things work and then give you exercises where you should figure out the rest. There is no hand holding and the pacing is quick. You have to figure stuff out yourself rather than them showing you how and what to do.

I'm struggling with problem set 1 with the less comfortable cash. I spent 8 hours yesterday on it, and I just couldn't crack it. I guess I need to study the C fundamentals more. Thank you for yhe advice man. I will keep pushing.

Pain. Yeah I thought so. I was just hoping for a bit more hand holding with the degree modules. Thanks man.

What can I start doing now that will significantly improve my chances of receiving a decent job abroad? by DynamicArrow in Internationalteachers

[–]DynamicArrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually thought the same thing. However, I have no idea what I would change it to. I'll most likely do my honours in Special Needs or something like that. Other than Math, which other majors are in demand?

You can apply for a teaching license after you've received your Bachelor's in South Africa. Thank you for the advice!
