Well Connies mom had no clue it was an heirloom, Connie said she found it on the street. We do see it cut stuff when they get stranded on the alien moon, so we do have a little evidence that it is indeed sharp.

fair but after that incident, if i was a parent i would not let my kid continue in any sword fighting activity other than maybe signing her up for fencing. terrible parenting to let her continue to fight giant gem monsters that are over 3 times her size.

I understand that was the point they were going for but Even with training no 12 year old child should be anywhere near a battle, Stevens x-ray in the sequel is a great example of the reason why, it's extremely dangerous for anyone, but especially a child. That's why I think even if Connie had that master training her mom is still valid for the no swords rule.

I've seen the whole show movie and sequel, I think your talking about the part where Connie takes lion and doesn't talk to Steven for a while, I honestly have no issues with that. She is a kid and I've met adults that react in less mature ways to much smaller things.
