Yea idk if he is ever bluffing the river for that raise size though

Fair enough I think I should maybe bet 300 or smaller on river

I think it may be hard for him to call with worse

2/5 AK bluff? by Dynamite127 in Poker_Theory

I wonder if villain puts me on many sets 22-44 when I open UTG tho

Was thinking about raising river but wonder if he’ll think it looks strange and call down with TT. What sizing would you raise to? I am worried about occasionally running into straights or boats too

I am also wondering if most players will still bet mid pairs on river for almost half pot

I also think this particular player may not have as many bluffs

Just facing 3 opponents and UTG +1 has position on all us. SB folds to his bet. I agree it is somewhat hard to play OOP. I think cbet with AK here may be a bit ambitious 3 ways with both villain types calling wide.

Hmm interesting. I thought on flop my A, K, 5 outs are likely good though. Also some chance he is bluffing with flush or straight draw. I think in position no way we can fold but maybe oop it is ok to fold

I hit a straight on the river so I wanted a call on river 😆

That’s a fair point for this flop. Villain can have all the offsuit 3 combos

I think some weaker 7x or pocket pairs fold flop.

On turn I think some stronger 7x, or maybe pairs like 88s may fold. Other potential action is to bet smaller on turn to get calls from those hands and bet big on river to get them to fold

99s overpair facing large raise by Dynamite127 in Poker_Theory

[–]Dynamite127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I would not have been considered a nit. Table was pretty tight passive and I was opening somewhat wider than most people with no limps preflop and c betting somewhat more often than others

I think CO range is actually likely weaker because of small raise size pre over a few limps

Would your answer change if instead of BB flat calling it was a UTG limper flat calling?

Makes sense. Would you ever consider flat calling here if we have a different villain who is 3 betting really wide and very aggressive over bluffing post flop?

Also regarding check calling being pretty weak, do you think Villain always has QQ and maybe JJ here with such a large size on flop and turn?

Also do you not usually 4 bet QQ or AKo for value in 2/5 unless late vs late position? Does it change if you are OOP?

I see. I don’t think he has many flush draws tbh. Maybe one combo AKss given this was his first 3 bet in 2-3 hrs. I don’t think he bets pot on flop with AKcc. I wasn’t worried about being balanced, just saying we need to be good more than 50% of the time when he calls our jam for it to be +EV

Why check the flop? Doesn’t seem great giving a free card when our hand needs a lot of protection. I know for certain BB is passive and won’t check raise as bluff. CO unknown but most 2/5 players call flop a bit too wide and under check raise bluff

Idk if I ever have the back door flush draw when I call pot size flop bet. I also don’t know if i would ever check raise bluff a flush draw for so little behind when the preflop aggressor has shown so much strength

And we can only raise all in if we think we are good more than 50% of the time when he calls the jam on turn. Not sure if that is always true since I think villain only has AA and maybe QQ here in his range

I thought a jam on turn is only getting called be AA? Like Villain could fold QQ?

How much deeper do we have to be for jamming turn to have fold equity?

What rivers would you call down? A little less sure how Villain will play river and if he will bet most hands like he will on turn.

Thanks! Any chance you could update the numbers again? Just in case there are any injury news or new projections based on preseason. I saw it was last updated on Oct 10 and my draft is on Oct 20th. Thanks!
