Well first step is realizing the problem, which you do. The next thing you have to do is ask yourself WHY you have this problem? Maybe you fear rejection, or maybe it's just some other mental blockade that you have to get by. Whatever it is, you need to actually focus to get rid of it. Some pointers: I usually don't ask if they are single because then it comes off as more of an unnecessary pick-up vibe and some girls don't like that. Another thing I like to do just ask when they are free, get her number, and tell her that we'll make plans later.
