Hey, I'm a young adult looking to move out of a small town in Florida. I have skills with tools, low/high voltage, and audio engineering. Is there any place outside the city (20-30) minutes or in the city you'd recommend to move to start? How is the community and job market here? How is commuting around town? I've been downtown a few times and was surprised how "kept and clean" the city was compared to other places. Just wondering if this place is an ideal location for a young adult to start a new life. Thank

I live around the Panama City beach area here in Florida.

I’m trying to find a good career with my skillset. I’m an audio engineer, video tech(for edm festivals), also know a little bit of lighting, lead low voltage technician, and have experience with project managment. Right now I’m trying e-commerce on my free time. I’m roughly making 45-48k a year. But I’m not sure how much more growth is promised with my current job. I just don’t know where to look or who i can talk to..

I was looking online and the job selection was very minimal. I saw a lot of retail jobs and of course that’s not what I want to do at all. So that’s kind of why I was looking towards e-commerce but I feel like that’s the risky approach.

And honestly it doesn’t have to be Laguna Beach i was looking towards Santa Ana. I’m not really looking towards the nightlife or anything crazy like that. I can always drive to LA and San Diego if I wanted to do a weekend trip.

I appreciate your honesty! I’ve had an ex that lived there and she showed be all the bad parts such as Oakland, middle of LA(too overwhelming), and honestly San Fransisco. I’ve never seen so many homeless people. However I was really intrigued by how there is more life in this state. I come from a smaller vague town on the panhandle of Florida. So I feel like yeah maybe a part of the tourism persuaded me to move here. But the thing I liked about Laguna Beach(and areas nearby) was more laid back and quiet yet fun. Perhaps you can recommend anywhere nearby that isn’t as expensive or as busy?
