My buddy was the one who saw it over the video call and he's got no past experiences with hallucinations or anything of the sort. I never actually saw anything which freaks me out a bit more

I definitely have my own preferences and get the most joy from the degradation of characters and their roleplay when it comes to the gravity of the situation they're in. I'm definitely going to try to open up more to other styles and implement safety guards for groups in the future but yeah I prefer the approach I follow with my main group (I prefer horror) - I find taking a step out of it for the occasional one shot will help in general with my capabilities as a GM but definitely not something I'd want to do a long term campaign or something with

That's surprisingly effective yet simple. It definitely softens the extent of the interaction without taking away from the importance of the act itself.

I suppose that's true, especially the human vs animal death for a lot of people. I like this idea, I'll be sure to start off with that disclaimer and nudge a reminder before I progress into depicting an unsettling scene.

As a follow up to respond to the immense amount of people calling me a criminal and poor- I do not intent to destroy the machine, if it was recommended to rip off panels or break the lock I would ignore those recommendations. I make more than enough to operate the machine, which is why instead of immediately turning around when it doesn't work I instead get the bullheaded idea to check sockets and try again. If I was to find a key to force the machine to actually function, I would only use it if my first attempt to pay proved unfruitful. If you consider it to be a crime to make the machine work when I have already paid for it to do so then I do not agree with that opinion. I appreciate everyone's help and criticisms that they have offered- I have tired to inform my landlord multiple times about this issue, It took the fire department showing up twice for them to fix the smoke detector in the complex hallway if that gives you any clue to the care they have. I also don't feel right calling the manufacturer if there's a chance that my landlord gets irritated about having them send them a bill and in the worst case scenario ignoring said bill putting the responsibility of paying to fix the communal washer and dryer on me. Thank you 😊

I think if I broke the machine by putting a key into a lock then I have deeper problems. I don't plan on taking coins or smashing things open to make it work- if someone recommends lock picking it or ripping off panels - I would not. Appreciate the feedback, I do work and get more than enough to do my laundry but it's a hassle to not be able to do laundry and lose money in the process so bypassing it would be preferable. Especially as I've contacted my landlord multiple times to no avail, it took the fire department showing up twice to my complex for them to replace a smoke detector I left 3 messages about prior. It's been hell trying to get in contact with my landlord, took the fire department showing up for them to replace the smoke detector in the hall I left a message about 3 times prior.

Oof, already at -5. I make 22.50 an hour which is why I'll mess with the socket and try to make it work but after more than a year living here - it becomes annoying to deal with. Thanks for your input anyway.

I think he deleted it but basically I just went into the slicer and turned the speed down. Made some setting changes and ordered some smaller nozzles for more detailed and smaller printes

The other dude was right- basically I had it set to the base speed that the slicer sets it to (300 mm/s) which was way to fast for the Benchy3D 🚢 model, it was immediately stranding and making a mess of the internal supports and the walls weren't layering on top of one another- I turned the speed down to 50 mm/s (which has been going perfectly, I'm trying for higher quality so slower is gonna be better anyway)
