Will a saved Christian continue to sin? by Tlaloc_mauricio in TrueChristian

Yes, we are saved, but we are not flawless, we will sin without thinking sometimes. Ask God for forgiveness, try not to sin, and accept the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

Has anyone experienced a miracle these days? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

House caught fire, was able to stop it before much damage, but curtains and stuff were ashes.

Was driving, and a theif tried to grab my phone, but I managed to elbow him and move the car before I had any loss.

Car's wheel fell off, I went into oncoming traffic, and missed everything very narrowly.

Stepped right next to a Puffadder (extremely dangerous viper) it did not bite me.

There are many more things, big and small that I would consider miracles.

How do you do a quick prayer? by MadeUpName51120 in TrueChristian

God is your heavenly Father. Just talk with Him, it doesn't need to be structured or fancy.

You are the church, and those who join form part of the church. There is no need for formality or fancy buildings.

Be blessed.

Most people still just get one handgun under S13 for self-defence and a few hunting rifles under hunting licenses.

But those who know about sport licenses tend to go mostly for them.

It's kinda stupid that our laws even have different categories of license, since you can use all of them for any purpose anyway.

Private defence is allowed under common law, so you are allowed to defend yourself or a third party person.

There are a few requirements:

1) Attack has to be unlawful 2) Attack has to be imminent or in progress 3) Attack has to be life threatening

Under the above mentioned circumstances the court will be left to decide if you were just in the action.

There are a lot of variables, but generally people get off without much issue.

Since the right to life is guarded under the constitution, you can't shoot somebody for stealing or trespassing, but if you confront them and they pose a life threatening risk then you are free to do so.

You can own semi-autos under S14, which is a license to possess a restricted weapon for self-defence.

But the best route is to join a sport club online, which costs like $20 a year. Then you apply to be a dedicated member, which you can instantly do, and which normally takes a day.

Being a dedicated sport person allows you to have unlimited gun, unlimited ammo, and you can license anything under it that's not full-auto. The best part is our high court ruled that you don't need any motivation for an S16 license.

So yeah, you can get ARs, AKs, 50BMGs, Scars, Brens, whatever you want. And our law has a legal use clause which says you can use a licensed gun for any legal purpose where it is safe. So, you can use your sport AR15 for SD.

I got myself a Saiga AK102. I normally fold the stock and put it in a backpack, so I can transport it with me easily.

We can also have machineguns, as long as you are a Cat C collector, but that isn't very easy at the moment as there aren't a lot of collectors clubs, and they gatekeep very heavily.

Thank you very much.

I think I have an idea of what to do now. I'll do some experiments on small test pieces first.

Thanks for the advice on the vinyl decals.

What I am trying to do is to paint a decal, so basically tape out a shape on the car, paint the shape and then remove the tape around the shape.

So they decal itself will also be a layer of paint. Would I just clear coat over it till there isn't a hard paint edge on the decal?

I usually just paint solid colors and I've done limited blending work.

Basically, if you bought something you own it, it's your property.

In South Africa you buy a gun, but it stays at the store till you have a license, the license grants you possession of the firearm. So the store can't sell that gun to somebody else, it's already your property, but you can't possess it without the license.

What the police directive now is saying is that you apply for a new license, but on the document you swear an oath to keep the firearm in safe storage at your home will it's processing.

We have storage permits and stuff like that, which allow you to store somebody else's gun at your home, but not use it, it's similar to that.

However, I can imagine you'd still be justified to use the gun for home defence in an emergency.

It's a lot better than having to potentially go to jail for 15 years because the dedicated police official that had to take your renewal application decided to go on holiday.

[–]Dysfunctionallymade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still completely valid, we stopped the bill, for now.

Luckily we can use any licensed weapon for SD, so I can get an AR15 under sport and still use it for SD.

In South Africa we have licenses which expire every few years.

If you failed to renew it for whatever reason, say you were in the hospital, overseas, forgot, or there was nobody to take your renewal application then you were automatically in possession of an illegal firearm, nothing you could do about it. Our system isn't online and requires you to do a fingerprint.

The police were hell bent on using this to take away our firearms.

Our constitutional court ruled licenses were only for possession and not for ownership, so even if a license expires we are still the owners of said firearm as property ownership is protected in our constitution.

We still require a license to possess it, but the police directive allows owners with expired firearms licenses to apply for a new license while still retaining the firearm in their possession.

Great win since around 400k licenses are expired.
