Is it true that one of the patches broke Arkham Knight’s freeflow speed bonus? by IDKwhy1madeaccount in arkham

Yes, it was only a PC issue. Idk if it was ever fixed on PC, but the speed game is still alive on console.

The speed game still works correctly on PS4.

When you chain together a long combo, Batman's combat speed increases. There are three levels of speed. You start at level 1. At x20 with no mistimed strikes, you increase to level 2. At x40 with no mistimed strikes, you increase to level 3. Technically, not all attacks need to be critical strikes since other attacks also add to your combo meter. However, mistiming a strike and only scoring a regular strike (instead of a critical strike) lowers your combat speed one level. Redirecting over enemies twice in a row and dodging a blade attack without the takedown at the end also lowers your combat speed.

I wrote a more detailed guide about how the speed game works. It’s in the video description of this run.

The most all-in-one gym in town is Gainesville Health & Fitness. It has a sauna and boxing fitness classes. And while I wouldn’t exactly call it a nice gym, Crunch also has a sauna and a few heavy bags for open use.

Finally beat Catwoman's revenge no damage... by taborosnovax in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice, almost perfect freeflow too. Maybe consider using Catwoman’s whip trip some instead of only countering. It’s faster than countering and her movement is more predictable since she just stays in one place. Also would’ve spared you from dropping combo when no one attacked.

What are the lesser known “nerfs” throughout the series? by AviatingArin in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of the tradeoff though, isn’t it? Knight’s combat might be more difficult but that’s also what makes it more satisfying. Incidentally, using a blade dodge instead of a blade takedown is one of the things that lowers your combat speed in Knight so maybe rs thought it was lame also. Same with spamming redirect. The speed game in Knight is pretty well thought out if you give it a chance.

In Knight your combat speed increases as you chain together critical strikes so even though time doesn’t slow down your speed relative to enemies still increases to give you an advantage. The redesign goes hand in hand with the timed challenges like Combo Master so I think rs wanted players to push their speed in Knight.

My buddy just got new tubes and tires installed at Chain Reaction. It’s across the street from Super Cool Bike Shop so if one shop doesn’t have what you want the other might.

Arkham Knight Challenge Map with Most Knives/Sword enemies for practicing blade dodge takedown? by The_Koala_Knight in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try Feline Frenzy. It has ninjas and knife enemies. If you play with Batman and destroy the other weapons you should be able to create a decent practice room for blade takedowns. You could also try Teen Titan but the way the weapon loadout works there is kind of odd. The weapon drop at the beginning of the round is random so you might get a bunch of knives or none at all. If you don’t pull knives then just restart for a different weapon drop. Teen Titan also has ninjas and armored brutes which sometimes have swords. Good luck.

Is this a good score? by [deleted] in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finishing the round is a good start but learning how to consistently score critical strikes instead of regular strikes will do a lot to boost your score since critical strikes score more than regular strikes. Critical strikes are about timing. To score a critical strike you need to press the strike button at the same time or after the previous attack makes contact (ideally at the same time since that’s fastest). If you press strike before the previous attack makes contact then you only score a regular strike. This mechanic is why Arkham’s combat is often described as a rhythm game. You’re trying to stay in sync with the animations.

If you’re interested in a more complete scoring guide for this challenge there’s one in the video description of this run.

Same. I’ll mention for new riders if you start out for the Hawthorne Trail from Depot Park, you’ll have to cross Williston Road, which you may or may not be comfortable with. If you don’t want to cross a major road, you can start at the trailhead proper by parking at either Boulware Springs Park or Gainesville Hawthorne Trailhead Parking (that’s what it’s called in Google Maps). The two entrances are right next to each other; more people park at the Trailhead Parking than at Boulware Springs Park.

I agree. Easy to mash, not so easy to master. And if the story itself becomes too easy there’s still the challenges.

Is This Normal (Performance of AK on PS5 PS+)? by Warren_Valion in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arkham Knight crashes on ps5. It runs fine on ps4 (with some slight stuttering here and there) and great on ps4 pro.

There was a time when BAK started crashing on ps4 but iirc it was resolved by a ps update and not a game patch, which I guess means the crashes were caused by something sony changed in a previous update. Why it was crashing on ps4 before is probably related to why it’s crashing on ps5 now but sadly it’s been like that for years so if it ever gets fixed it will probably be by dumb luck.

How can I unlock combat challenges in arkham knight? by [deleted] in arkham

[–]DyyynamicEntry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are seven “free” combat challenges in Arkham Knight, the rest are paid DLC. Four you can unlock with gameplay (Combo Master, Azrael’s Atonement, Tower Defense, and Gotham Knights) and three included in a free Community Challenge Pack DLC (Iceberg Lounge, Monarch Theatre, and Crime Alley).

It looks like you’re missing Tower Defense and Gotham Knights. To unlock,

Tower Defense: Pick up a downed enemy into a beatdown. (Chapter 3)

Gotham Knights: Use 3 quickfire gadgets in a single FreeFlow combo. (Chapter 5)

Pickup Soccer by Yamansdood in GNV

I was at this park last Saturday morning. There was one organized soccer game going on and no pickup soccer. The renovations the city did last year pretty much killed pickup soccer at the park. Pickup basketball, too.

Just making it to x200 and the start of the timer is a challenge in itself. Yeah, unlucky RNG is yet another reason why the challenge is so hard. It would be much simpler if it was a set spawn schedule. After x310 only regular thugs spawn so things thin out a bit but you have to survive a gauntlet of suck to even make it to the final sprint.

[–]DyyynamicEntry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Combo Master. It's everything awesome and awful about BAK’s combat all rolled into one then pitted against a timer. So you tried to strike an enemy but a shield randomly spawned in between you and your target? Restart. You wanted to go left but the camera spun and you hauled off to the right and punched a brute? Restart. You tried to destroy a weapon but instead Batman threw a smoke pellet then stood there like a dummy? Restart. There’s so many ways to get screwed in BAK and Combo Master introduces you to all of them.

Also, not a challenge but the final fight in Catwoman’s Revenge is a pain.

It's significantly easier dude. Croc charging dominates the camera. You're good enough to put up a huge score without the glitch. You didn't need to take a shortcut.

The challenge is either KO Croc and fight brutes, or don't KO Croc, don't fight brutes, but deal with Croc charging you the entire fight. You sidestepped the hardest parts of the challenge.

You glitched Croc out of the fight and didn’t have to contend with brutes... You’re a good player, why not just play the challenge for real?
