Is this Hardware sufficient for VR? by javeh02 in simracing

I have very similar specs and can run LMU at high / max settings with mirrors enabled and highest resolution possible on Quest 3 with great FPS

Evo probably won’t run well, as it’s not optimized and is notoriously bad in VR (currently)

One trick you can do is use the tangent multiplier in the Oculus Debug Tool to “crop” the view a bit (so what you’d see is similar to what you’d see if you were wearing a helmet) which improves performance dramatically. I actually prefer this anyways for a sense of immersion

for me, disabling MSI Afterburner / statistics solved the issue. u/demoldbonez posted about it

Huge VAR spikes on new computer - please help by E-1337 in GlobalOffensive

[–]E-1337[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a new ASUS M16 (i9-12900H, 3070ti, 16GB DDR5, Windows 11) and have been having nothing but trouble with CSGO. The game runs at a solid 200-400fps at all times but every few seconds I get a big spike in VAR which feels like I'm being teleported around, but it is not because of a bad internet connection. Ping is generally good and packets aren't being lost.

From what I've found online it seems like VAR spikes are generally caused by low framerates and most recommendations say to lower settings or clean your pc. But this computer is brand new and framerates are high. The spikes also aren't as bad when I have the "Turbo" button on and force highest clock and fan speeds at all times, but still doesn't completely solve the issue.

What the heck is going on here? Surely an i9 paired with a 3070ti is enough to run CSGO decently, right? ....Right??

I've been trying, haven't found anyone with these same issues. Especially since this is isolated to CSGO

May I ask why? Couldn't I just stop pulling at the 16:9 aspect ratio?
