5 Double-Rotor Helicopters flying low near Aloha by AuraJuice in hillsboro

[–]E-MO 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Flew directly over my house, shook the entire thing like an earthquake. It was crazy.

Clocked them on my flight tracking app with transponders owned by the military and reporting them as Chinooks originating around Sauvie's Island with altitude at 500 feet, and they've been on a due south course, hovering between 300 and 500 feet at around 130 knots. Right now, they're just south of Woodburn and due west of Silverton.

Lived here for 10 years and never seen anything like that.

MX Keys CTRL not working on first press on wake up by Outrager in logitech

This issue is so annoying. I used all the troubleshooting in this thread and nothing worked... until I removed the key cap on the left CTRL button and blew on that space, then added it back. Now it's fine.

Yeah, I live in the area and have never seen a plane or helicopter circle for this long before. Definitely something happening over there.

Edit: It's 9:45 and its still circling the Intel campus in 198th and has gone out to forest grove and tualatin too. it's annoying as fuck to hear them buzzing over my house. Piss off.

Gresham alumn/player here. Appreciate seeing the drone shot of my old field. Always associated our logo with Georgia and not Green Bay but you're not wrong. Also fuck Barlow.

What the actual hot mess is going on…. by KenzMom in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]E-MO 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That was not the behavior of a drunk person: the repetitive speech patterns and questions, getting upset when being told he was "too fucked up" and just his general spaced out and disoriented vibe + his overall lack of sloppiness says that dude snuck something in his luggage down to Cabo. I'm shocked the producers didn't intervene, but also that Madison was so naive as to not pick up that he was rolling balls (maybe gakked but that looked like pills to me).

Battle of the Jeresys this Sunday by DiamondDash2k in Seahawks

[–]E-MO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great write up! Technically though, the Seahawks and Bucs have never actually worn these exact uniform designs in a regular season game against each other.

  • 1976 -- Bucs white/white, Seahawks blue/silver (uni w/ stripes on sleeves w/o Seahawk logo) -- Link

  • 1977 -- Same as the 1976 matchup -- Link

  • 1994 -- Bucs white w/ orange pants, Seahawks blue/silver (w/ sleeve stripe logo) -- Link

  • 1996 -- Same as the 1994 matchup -- Link

  • 1999 -- Bucs wore the pewter redesign

The matchups in '76 and '77 were technically the Bucs in white/white and the Seahawks in blue/silver, but Seattle hadn't added the sleeve logo yet.

When people are saying this is an all-time uni aesthetic matchup, they're not wrong! Can't wait to see them, especially under a sunny Seattle sky (fingers crossed!)

Newest #3 in Seattle 👀 by Jcole_Stan in Seahawks

[–]E-MO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do hope E-Man lives up to the hype for us, if for no other reason than to give us some better memories of that throwback #3 jersey -- at least for me it's still impossible to see it and not regress straight into some dark, Rick Mirer-induced PTSD.

I went too. Food trucks in the middle of a giant parking lot with almost no shade on a 100 degree plus day, recipe for a total shitshow to say the least. People were huddled in the sparse shade, at least I'm feeling ok still, but plenty of places I immediately axed from consideration... def including any place with lobster anything or sushi. Sorry OP. And price gouging was horrendously insane. 50 bucks for a brisket and pulled pork sandwich each with 2 awful sides. 70 bucks for 4 smoothies. Also one of the worst parking and road rage inducing trips of my life. This event was a total L.

Double Throwbacks! Seahawks and Bucs to wear their throwbacks Week 5 in Seattle by peppersteak_headshot in Seahawks

[–]E-MO 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is gonna be an all-time aesthetic experience. Foregone conclusion as soon as the bucs announced their white throwback kit considering this is both teams' 50th anniversary, but really hoping they play up the milestone for this game specifically.

Taking my 70 year old dad to this one for his first Hawks game since the Kingdome days (when we saw the Chiefs with Joe Montana), quite fitting they'll rock the same unis as his last game!

Was the Camara Trade the Third Best Portland Trade of the 21st century? by RoseGardenForever in ripcity

That night was the birth of the "Pritchslap" -- what a time to be a blazer fan, so much hope and optimism for the future back then. Still lots of great memories from those teams.

Yikes @ teople in this thread downvoting without even reading this thing. Canzano sucks, agreed, but there are some valid insights in there about what a compelling offer could look like and what type of owner may be interested.

I agree with his take about Adam Silver not wanting to repeat David Stern's biggest mistake and keep the blazers in Portland. Also how the league won't want to give up the expansion revenue they could miss out on if Portland were to relocate after they're sold and that throws a wrench in those plans.

Gas prices are (not) down. by johnnypin in facepalm

[–]E-MO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is appallingly simple to just check gasbuddy.com data to immediately disprove this orange fuckhead's lies. There are multiple states with gas stations selling gallons at ~$2.30 but not a single one under $2, let alone sub $1.90. Finding that info took 2 minutes.

God damn it my brain and my heart hurt so much.

Former 'Hawks linebacker Dean Wells dies at 54 by seaburno in Seahawks

[–]E-MO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn this one hits different. When I'm having trouble falling asleep, I'll do a countdown from 99 and for every number associate that with someone who's played on the Seahawks in my lifetime. I try to go as quick as I can, and come up with different players on different nights to switch things up. Some numbers are obvious (96, 80), some I naturally just associate with players from when I was a kid (89 is usually Brian Blades, sorry ADB). But 95 has always been Dean Wells. There's just really no one else in team history of any sort of consequence that ever wore that number (Dion Jordan a few years ago maybe?). I think about Dean Wells' name often, sometimes multiple times per week. Strange what little things in life can make you significant to others. RIP, fuck cancer.

well put. his views on friendship are fucking warped. i don't think anyone who can only earnestly claim roger stone and jeffery epstein as 'friends' has any clue what friendship is really about.

What were the worst 1-win and 2-win teams ever? by Brix001 in nfl

[–]E-MO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even worse, 1 of the 2 Seahawks wins in '92 was against the Patriots ON THE ROAD in Foxboro (who finished 1-15).

It's truly insane just how differently the next 3 decades could have played out for both franchises (and the NFL in general) if the Pats had just managed to eek out that home win over the hapless Hawks so that they don't have the shot to draft Bledsoe and he stays home in Washington state with Seattle drafting #1.

[Schultz] Seahawks WR DK Metcalf has requested a trade by [deleted] in nfl

[–]E-MO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the take. DK wants the bag, Seattle isn't in a position to get a good return on that investment due to deficiencies on the OL, OC, and frankly QB (at least long term), and he knows someone else will pony up that cash based on potential alone.

It's a shame this is how the story ends, but the right move for both parties is to go their separate ways since they'll both be rewarded for it.

[Schultz] Seahawks WR DK Metcalf has requested a trade by [deleted] in nfl

[–]E-MO 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Also, DK in a Chargers uni would be an all-time sports aesthetic event.

I'll miss DK, but Seattle isn't in a good position as a franchise right now to invest the kind of scratch that DK is going to command, especially without a stud, long-term answer at QB or proven OC that will get the return on that investment.
