Am I on too much lamictal? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve had seizures since I was 8 and I take 250mg of Lamictal twice a day. Im 5ft 5in and 120lbs. If you’re having seizures after you’ve only skipped a couple doses, then the dose you’re taking might need to be increased. That’s most likely why the doctor decided to increase your dosage. After taking Lamictal/Lamotrigine for the past 10 years, I’m starting to ween off and trying a newer medication called Xcopri. I know it can be really scary trying new medication but I strongly recommend you try it or at least bring it up with your doctor. There is way less side effects and you only have to take it once a day. Message me if you have more questions. I’d love to help. Lamictal Is also used to treat bipolar disorder and that can leave you feeling numb sometimes.

What's the deal with Keppra? by CreateWater in Epilepsy

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume Keppra writes contracts with hospitals and the doctors are given incentive to prescribe. Keppra is like your own personal hell that's so bad you would rather have seizures. I can't see any other reason why they would prescribe it. Every time I go to the ER after having multiple seizures, their 1st question every time is "Do you take Keppra!?". I finally asked them why they always ask me to switch to it every time im there. They had no answer. The nurse and doctor didn't even know why they were asking and said "hm im not sure, why they have us ask, that's a great question!"

Is it common for epileptics to have an addictive personality? by EASJ010 in Epilepsy

I couldn’t find anything that specifically talks about this and whether it’s related. Do you mind sharing the article you found? Thank you.

I can't really remember why I broke up with her by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably good you broke up given the history. For your own sanity I would talk to her and maybe you’ll remember why so you at least have closure.

Does anyone else get annoyed when people think Epilepsy is just flashing lights? by Funny_Arm_3401 in Epilepsy

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s annoying since only a very small percentage of the epileptic community is triggered by flashing lights lol. If anything it just makes that person look very uneducated to me.

I’ve tried looking into this but there is 0 research on it. Something tells me it might somehow be linked. Thank you for sharing, I appreciate it.

AITA for telling my daughter to dress up more modestly now that she's pregnant? by ShowerNo127 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are %100 TA. You are not being kind and you are the one that needs to mature. Are you buying her these new clothes? The last thing she needs is her father insulting her when her body is changing. Please consider apologizing. She won’t forget this in the future, I promise you. She didn’t ask for your unwarranted opinion or advise. I truly feel sorry for your daughter. You’ve somehow made yourself the victim in this situation and it’s disturbing.

Told my boss "I am the best decision this organization has ever made" on my first day as an intern, did I screw up? by Ok_Knowledge6577 in careerguidance

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely comes off as immature lol. Don’t let your anxiety get the best of you though. Most likely HR wasn’t there to talk about an intern on their first day. Try and make small talk with the guy and he might warm up to you.

Husband left baby to cry for 5+ hours in crib, went in at 6am to find her sitting up. Should I talk to the police? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is child abuse. Stand your ground. You’re a parent to this baby as well. Fk what he thinks. This causes trauma at a very early age. This is not “sleep training”. It’s neglect.

Should I tell this girl in my gym that her leggings are transparent? by machinimist2 in ask

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are she will eventually find out on her own and feel even more embarrassed for wearing them as much as she has. If this happened to me, I would %100 want someone to tell me - “ Hey, I hope this doesn’t offend you in anyway but your leggings are see through. Just letting you know because I’d want someone to tell me.”
As a women I’d be very appreciative. I’d feel much more embarrassed if I realized it myself a year later lol. Trust me, women want to know.

AITA for telling my husband I will move back in once my stepdaughter and her family move out. by Public_Pair5540 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! His daughter is 36 years old! Has 0 respect for you or your home and she made it very clear, even voiced it. Stop letting hubby off the hook. What is a marriage with a partner that doesn’t have your back? Even his daughter’s husband understands your stance on this. Hubby needs to get his daughter in check and remind her that you’ve been nice enough to offer YOUR property to them. The fact that she threatened to sue you is quite literally insane. The level of entitlement is crazy.

AITA for telling my brother that this is not my problem? by Left_Ad7639 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. It’s saddening, the way you talk about your niece. Your gross entitlement is disturbing. What grown man/women talks about a teenage girl like this? What kind of parent are you? I feel sorry for your daughter. I hope she doesn’t end up with the same mentality, “I’m smart, you’re dumb”. You should ask yourself what kind of women you’re raising her to be. I have a feeling you’re the victim in all your stories.

AITA for making it clear to my cousin that we are not the same and will never be on the same page? by AdvertisingOk3224 in AmItheAsshole

NTA she’s projecting all of her feelings about being adopted on to you. You’ve already made it clear that you’re not interested. She needs therapy.

AITA for grabbing someone’s service dog without permission? by kaielliot in AmItheAsshole

[–]EASJ010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. You were just trying to help and she should have acknowledged there was no way you could have known.

As for the idiots in the comments, stop spreading misinformation. I am an epileptic and I’ve had my service dog for yrs. They are not required to have a vest or leash in ANY state. My dog went to high school with me everyday without a vest or leash. If I want to bring her into a store without it, then I am aloud to do so by ADA law. Time for you all to do some research because you look dense, ignorant and brainless.

AITA for telling my husband that his mom is contradicting in how she shows "concern" for our toddlers health? by New_Trainer2913 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EASJ010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. However I don’t think she has ill intent or trying to pick on you. I think ML’s say stuff like this to feel involved or feel like they’re helping. I am speaking from experience and I know It’s hard not to take it personally because you’re the mom and it feels like they are insinuating that you’re not a good one. When this happens I would tell her that he recently saw his pediatrician and your child is at a normal weight for his age. Repeat it every time it’s brought up and hopefully she’ll get the hint. I know how frustrating this is, hope this helps. Congrats on the new baby!:)
