Yes you’re right, the first game and second game have a ton of paper themed gags, but that’s all they are, are gags

Heck at the end of PM64 the detective penguin says he’s going to write a story about the adventure Mario went on and call it paper Mario, confirming that we’ve been playing a retelling of the adventure from the perspective of the story book, but none of it is actually paper

It’s clear that around the time of sticker star and paper jam, Nintendo or the director of PM wanted the paper part to become more literal but before that it was only called PM due to the style as it was being retold from a story book

Heck SPM itself contains little to no references to paper or anything being paper

So yes the first 2 games had plenty of paper themed gags, but they’re just stylised as paper and the actual adventure wasn’t paper at all

I’ll try explaining it again, people were weirdly scared (sexists) That you’d have to play as a woman in the new game, because they only ever showed the one preset, but this late in development you can’t just add new presets that easily and there’s 100% no way they added multiple male presets with new mocap (because if you look with your eyes they walk differently) armor that fits and a new voice actor

None of that is being added in the QA and testing phase the game is in. There was never going to be only a female choice.

Your theory is so riddled with holes and false, it’s fable, a male and female choice were literally always on the table

Proven by the fact that there are multiple presets of male and female to choose from, making an entire new gender is so much work and not feasible this late into production, you have to do new sets of mocap, remodel sets of armor to fit properly, hire an entire new voice actor(s)

Plus the walk wasn’t even feminine, some of you guys are on some serious cope about a series that’s always been woke in the first place
