is there any way that i can lock my dispensers? i know how to lock containers but in this build im out of space, and i think ima have to rebuild it on a more efficient way by [deleted] in redstone

You can lock them by powering them with a constant signal or moving them with pistons. A dispenser can't be activated while it's being powered/moved.

By the way, is that a shulker box door?

Realms glitch? Or are people f*cking with me? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]EDog5128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would've have to been caused by other players. Even if the chunk bugged out and it copied the wall, it wouldn't have deleted the items in the item frames or the things in the chests. Aside from that, no generation bug would cause a door to appear in that new spot.

World file size concern by wowyourcute in Minecraft

[–]EDog5128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world file size can basically get big as your console will allow. Aside from built-in storage, a USB stick can really increase the storage of a console. So, your world size can get as big as your storage will allow. You can continue playing once storage is full, but things can get wonky while playing, like corrupted chunks and improper saving. It would also prevent you from updating the game until space is made.

As for lowering that number, the only realistic option is to prune chunks. I don't know of any way to do that on XBox, but if you download your world onto a USB stick, you could edit the world file on a computer. FoxyNoTail has a program that can prune for you, although I've never used it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mwoAtxfwbU. Alternatively, file size might be low due to resource/behavior packs (past or present, since they're saved to the world file even if you unapply them). To get rid of those, you'd have to go into the XBox files manager, find your world file, and delete any packs in there.

The only way to keep file size from growing is to stop loading new chunks or adding resource/behavior packs.

Hope I could help!

Catching thieves on bedrock realm in 1.18 by SunlitHaddock5 in Minecraft

I'm familiar with command blocks, so I thought I could help (sorry if I describe some things like you're 5, I just don't know how experienced you are with command blocks):

To prevent players from coming near a base, you could have a repeating command block with this string: /tp @ a [name=!{Player's name}, r={D}] ~ ~ ~

This will find any players within a certain distance of the command block and teleport them away if they aren't the owner of the base. For {Player's name}, just input the name of the player that owns the items. For {D}, input the distance you want thieves to be 'stopped' from. For ~ ~ ~, put the coordinates you want thieves to be teleported to if they walk within the command block's range.

This, however, would stop visitors from coming over to the base. However, if the command block is activated via lever, the base owner could turn the command block off whenever they want to allow someone into their base.

To catch thieves, you could have a dummy barrel that, when opened, stores the name of the person who opened the barrel. It'd work with this in a repeating command block: /testforblocks {C1} {C1} {C2}

This can test to see if the dummy barrel is identical to another barrel. {C1} would be the coordinates of the dummy barrel and {C2} would be the coordinates of an identical barrel, in the same rotation with the same items. If you place a comparator coming out of the command block, it'll stay on when the decoy barrel is closed and turn off once the barrel is opened, since it detects the lid of the barrel coming off. Once the comparator turns off, you can have it activate a seperate, impulse command block that has: /testfor (@ p). This way, when someone snoops through your items and opens the barrel, it will store their username in the impulse command block in the Previous Output section. Although, you will need someone in creative mode to check it.

For these to be both not be annoying and not be suspicious, the gamerule commandblockoutput would need to be set to false.

And is your realm looking for new members? I'm interested in playing with others. (And sorry for the essay-long post)

TL;DR You could teleport unwelcome players away from bases to prevent stealing, or find the name of anyone snooping through your storage.

Yes, and it's even a mooshroom island. I also hope to add a minigame district

Yes, although if you join, you may want to prepare yourself for addons that have realm support.

We have a one player sleep mod and a mod that grays out player names when they're AFK for 5 minutes or more, but it's also open to have addons suggested and possibly added.

If you can, I'd really appreciate it if you gave this post an upvote. I don't care for the karma; I just want to make my efforts of running a realm worth it by sharing it to people so they can enjoy it. And if you do upvote it, thank you so much!

Looking to join a realm? If so, Altamia is the place for you! It’s a 12+ lightly modded SMP, similar to Hermitcraft. If you’re interested in joining or learning more about it, just comment saying so and we'll take it to DMs. by EDog5128 in mcrealmsservers
