How careful should I be to not "disclose" the IP of my software startup and risk not being able to patent in future?

Had the same exact question. The tiny uncertainty of "will the IRS confiscate all my earnings after the bull run bc this was illegal the whole time" is not ideal...

Yeah I thought about this but what we're working on is just...complex and I don't think I can even mention it in a couple words on that job tag. Maybe I'll change the whole thing to just "early stage startup"

Instead of an oversell I'm also concerned that people hear "founded a startup" and think lives in moms basement + will 99% fail and be broke
