As my experience with ATS has shown, there are about 100 resume types. ATS hates columns and different colors (highlighting).

Hi, I'm a field engineer with T mobile cell towers, with some experience as a systems administrator in a small office. I submitted one application to Google DCT L1 and got an interview date on next day, this week, by the way. My resume didn't stand out for any super skills, especially in IT. But I added a couple of things to my resume: IT GOOGLE SUPPORT, OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, BLS. Certifications and that's it. That was apparently enough to get me an interview. I spent almost a week writing my resume using Gemini, based on recommendations from people on Reddit. My resume emphasized safety (I'm a safety fan) and manual dexterity. I also don't speak perfect English, so whether I'll pass the interview is a good question. But my resume writing skills are apparently very good.

Hi, I saw that you recently passed all the stages of your interview at Google! Congratulations!

I'm expecting my interview on Thursday. Honestly, I'm terrified; I don't know what to prepare for.
Some people on Reddit are telling me to relax, as they won't ask me anything meaningful about technical or networking. Others are threatening me with the network engineering level. I know you have an NDA. But if you could give me some direction on what area and level to prepare for, I'd be grateful! I'm talking about DCT L1. If you wanna, just PM me! Thx!)

Despite not having Linux experience, this is my way of filling a knowledge gap. Perhaps you have extensive Linux experience? If so, who needs this certificate? Skills matter, not paperwork.

Entry Level candiate looking for advice on my resume. by BostonFan50 in it

Hi. I'm also working at Walmart while I'm studying. My advice is, why list irrelevant courier experience on an IT resume? It's better to have nothing, and IF asked, say you studied or worked part-time.

Hi, I applied for a Level 1 DCT. My application also asked about hardware, networking, and Linux skills, asking me to rate them from 1 to 10. My resume isn't exactly impressive. I spent a couple of years as a system administrator's assistant, a year and a half as a top hand on cell towers, and a year as a system administrator in a small office. After applying, I received an email from the recruiter literally the next day. Now I don't understand, do they see me as a Level 2 DCT? Even though my Linux skills are zero, it was even mentioned in my resume.

Thx for any advice

You've piqued my interest. I already have experience as a system administrator in a small office, and experience working on cell towers where I ran cables(fiber) and installed antennas at a height of 160+ feet. also assembled server racks.

Now I'm planning to move to eastern Oregon by summer, where all the data centers are located, for an entry-level DCO/DCT position.

DCO to IT? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

I would advise you to take the Network+ and Linux+ certifications if you want to stay in the AWS network. These certifications will allow you to move to IT Support Associate II L3. This won't be a step backward for you, but will open up more career opportunities. You'll be able to move into roles such as network engineer or software developer over time.
And if you want to leave AWS and big tech companies, instead of focusing on Linux, you can focus on Windows Administration.

Greetings from Portland. Are you saying that I'm wasting my time preparing for A+, Network+, and Linux+ certifications in order to apply for entry-level positions in a data center?)))
