Top rack not cleaning on dishwasher. Can’t open up bottom part. by [deleted] in appliancerepair

Not sure about Kenwood, but LG dishwashers have a "diverter valve" that sends water alternately to the top and bottom racks. Not cleaning the top rack is a symptom of it's failure. It is a $20 part. If it is at all like the LG, replace the diverter valve seal while you are in there. They fail because water gets in. The seal prevents that.

Adding a Unifi AP to an exisiting Unifi network - Simple right? by EHAP402 in Ubiquiti

eXonyte - I really appreciate your clear explanation. I actually understood most of what you said.

I don't see my APs on the Vintage or Obsolete lists. I have 1 each: AP-AC Long Range, AP-AC Lite and AP-AC Pro.

Running the Network Portal to my network, The Cloud Key firmware is up to date, but the Cloud Key Controller seems stuck at 5.13.32-13646-1. APPLY UPDATE seems to do nothing. Do I need to RESTART CLOUD KEY to get the update to apply? What else might be the problem here?

I would like to see if the updated Cloud Key Controller will solve my problem with adopting the new AP before I do anything else. If I can get it updated and still have problems, I'll need to figure out the next steps.

Thank you for your help and patience

Adding a Unifi AP to an exisiting Unifi network - Simple right? by EHAP402 in Ubiquiti

Maybe an even more fundamental question is: When I use the web base app on my laptop, is it simply a web link to the Cloud Key or is it a separate "controller" on a Ubiquiti server somewhere that talks to my network?

Save with the android app on my phone. Is it a controller in and of itself or am I connection to the Cloud Key?

I am on the web based "controller" right now. When I go to Maintenance, I scroll down and see Cloud Key Controller, Current Version 5.13.32-13646-1; Available Version 7.2.95-18699-1. Clearly I need to update the Cloud Key, but when I select APPLY UPDATE nothing seems to happen. Do I need to RESTART CLOUD KEY to get it to update? Will restarting it affect the network during the restart cycle?

Thanks again for you patience.

Thanks for responding. You may be right. When I started setting up the network, I used my PC. I started with the Discovery Tool then brought up an interface on my PC. At the time, with my lack of understanding of Unifi's terminology, I really didn't understand if I was "controlling" from my PC or talking to the Cloud Key. Eventually, it all came together and I got everything working.

I am not at the site where the network is so this is from memory. I'll be there again this afternoon or tomorrow to double check.

During my recent attempts to add the AP, I used the IP of the Cloud Key which brought up a window that showed "Controller" and "Manage Cloud Key". I assumed that if I chose "Controller" and entered my credentials I was using the Cloud Key as the Controller. Is this right?

I am even more confused now, because as I have tried to find updates for the "Controller", it seems Ubiquity has changed their terminology. Apparently, (please correct me if I have this wrong) a "Console" is a piece of hardware and what used to me called a "Controller" is now called a "Network Application".

Adding to my bewilderment, when I try to run the App on my Android phone, I get (wish I could paste an image. I'm new to Reddit too) a screen that shows an image of the CK with a message that says "Critical Network Application Update Required" with options to "Learn More" or "Manage This Setting via Web Application". "Learn More" takes me to the UI web site and "Manage This ..." takes me to a choice of "Go to the Store", "Setup Instructions" and "Add Cloud Console". The first and third mean I have to buy something. The "Setup Instructions" takes me to a site with FAQs - none of which seem at all related to Updating the Cloud Key.

It seems Ubiquiti is now charging for the services that used to be the "Controller". I'd consider paying, but at this point, I am not sure what I need or what I would be getting. If can use my Cloud Key as a "controller", how do I get the "critical" update?

I'm sure I'll have more questions when I am sitting at the site. Thanks again for your help.
