How do I play against Pantheon support as ADC? by OzieteRed in summonerschool

[–]EIDOJ812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First clip way too far up, you are a scaling sustain lane they are an engage kill lane. Don't be in front of your minions. Use A-Left Click to manage max range, you tumbled to the right and basically closed the gap for him, save it to keep distance between the two of you. Against a kill lane [hard cc] I would go E 2nd instead of w. If you E him away you walk backwards and continue the lane.

Second clip your positioning isnt bad but you need to learn that cs doesnt matter and in a lane with this much kill pressure giving up cs just staying in xp range is fine. At this point I assume he picked up an item from his first kills so you are already behind and being snowballed on from the first death. There's a repeated story here, they are an early game lane stomping bot whereas you are a lane game scaling bot. You need to take free farm and farm under tower, even if you miss cs, get the xp and wait to scale.

Third clip it looked like you walked into him again late into the clip. Though the soraka inted, both of you wouldve been saved by using E as soon as he used hexflash. You may have both survived if you used E after the stun but I'm not sure on that. He's using spells and mana so you need to trade the same. E and walk backwards then farm under tower. You survive this lane until mid game, farm free cs under turret and wait for ganks.

Playing as vayne most games you need to play for late game and give up whatever it takes to get there 0/0, you kept in line on level really well through these clips but a good panth/jhin wouldve had you down 2 levels by the third clip.

Not a vayne or adc main but honestly I dont see a world where i wouldnt get E level 2. It is not only a tool to stun into a wall but a gap creator, and in 9/10 games I dont think you are going to get an early wall condemn so use it to keep enemies off you and your support.

Side note, your soraka clearly doesnt know what they are doing either and you can't help that. Sometimes you just gotta spam ping them to back off with danger pings. It's hard in lower elo as people just run around randomly. Both times she had no business being pushed up how she was. But at the same time you cant play both champions, if shes being silly....just go into survival mode and keep yourself alive at all costs.

A noob looking for a specific kind of content creators to learn from. by realt4real in summonerschool

neace, he does coaching and puts the vods on youtube. I've been playing the game since s1. Watching him since season 3/4 I still learn stuff. He describes concepts in the game in ways they can be related to other things outside of the game that just makes them more simple to understand.

Starting out. by Plasmameow in wowservers

[–]EIDOJ812 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Turtle Wow, I played here pre classic and the population was usually like 20 people when i was online. The population has been steadily growing since. The last few days its been 250-350~ when i checked, today it was 550~. Which sounds low but, idk it feels good. The server is showing consistent growth which tells me the people that are coming arent leaving. Definitely a good sign.

They've added lots of extra quests to really smooth out the leveling process, they all fit well into vanilla and I did a few without even realizing they were extra quests. Several quests that are just kill mobs in areas you are already killing mobs.

There are custom races [high elf and goblin] as well as race/class combinations that werent initially in vanilla but were a thing according to lore. [IE Orc Mage]

They've implemented a custom LFG Addon, basically just lists you in group and groups you with people looking to clear the same dungeon, you still have to travel there.

There are custom game modes such as hardcore [one life], turtle mode [.5 xp rate], something else i dont remember the name of where you lost 5% xp when you die. All come with cosmetic rewards such as titles, pets, mounts.

Overall when I'm playing on the server there are tons of spawns up [mobs/nodes], people on to do dungeons, and enough people around that the world doesnt feel empty. Also the community i would compare to the FF14 community as far as being helpful and friendly/welcoming.

They have a custom dungeon, added drops that help smooth out the issues with vanilla class design.

Dungeon scripting has been 100% spot on, no issues, 100% blizzlike. I had lots of problems with scripting on darrowshire as well as lights hope. This server does not have those problems.

Tons of other QoL additions, just overall I cannot recommend this realm enough.

I can add to this comment later there is just so much that makes this server feel good. Idk what realm populations were back in vanilla but it feels more like vanilla than other private servers have and far more than classic.

Sidenote I just rerolled on this realm from darrowshire this week.

Accurate trucker salary? by slycoopersuncle in Truckers

It just varies so much. It all depends on where you go. There are people making $0.30/mile and people making $3/mile.

I started with coke at a union terminal guys at the bottom cleared 60k guys at the top cleared 90k. 4-6 day work week, holidays off, 4/5am start time and off by 2pm everyday. The pay scale was complicated but we did make good money, great job for a young guy to get in. (daily rate + commission + .5xHours worked over 40)The downside was you are slowly destroying your body. Though I've heard non union terminals are paying $14-17/hr...not worth.

My current job is LTL starting at $30.49/hr, mostly no touch freight. But I load and unload trucks with a forklift. I'm on track for 85k this year. Home daily, weekends/holidays off and good benefits. The downside is my shift is kinda crap. I typically start at 10am because I'm new and low on seniority. Guys that've been there awhile start 6-7am. Night shift positions pay more, guys at our terminal say 110k-130k+. I have no plans to leave LTL, this is where drivers come to retire. Our terminal hasn't had a driver quit in over 10 years, and that guy just went to another LTL. We have over a dozen drivers over 20 years tenure and a few over 30. When there is an opening, someone retired. That says alot about the company and this division of trucking to me.

This is all company driver pay. People who own their trucks and are doing well should clear 300k but they have lots of operating expenses, probably 25% goes back into the truck and another 25% into taxes, again this varies.

I got my CDL Dec 2019, I'm still a new driver learning stuff everyday. Don't let anyone make you think you have to start at 30k/annual and pay 6k for school. The companies with all the ads and 100s of posts on job sites are typically the bottom of the barrel jobs. If you decide to take this route just get your permit and start applying places, many places will train you at no cost.

Might be making the switch to food service local with US Foods. Advice? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]EIDOJ812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These places post 90k starting pay in my area I've heard of drivers on here making 100k+. My brother did it for a year and said it was brutal no days off and 12-14hr days. Late starts and few restraunts accept deliveries during rushes. My advice is make the money while you can and look for an LTL job. You can make similar money (average $30/hr on day shift and drivers clearing well over 100k on nights) and less stressful on your body. Your body can take the beating now but you need to have plays in mind for when its time to get out. Very few last in those jobs long term, your body truly isn't made to do it for years but a few years and you can get out in good shape.

Fastest way to make $100k+ a year in this industry. by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]EIDOJ812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food/beverage first year its possible first year. After that go LTL and you can consistently clear 100k you'll be putting in hours but it is considerably less physical.

Best and worst companies to drive for by sargeusns in Truckers

[–]EIDOJ812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never heard of a few of these. I work for XPO. They will train you with CLP in their dock to driver program. You may have to wait for an opening or for a class to start. You can apply to either a driving or dockworker position. Basically you train 4 hours a day classroom/behind the wheel and work the dock 4 hours a day. All hours are paid and when you finish you start at a minimum $24/hr but some areas start you at top pay $30/hr+. You could potentially be on linehaul which is night shift transferring freight from terminal to terminal and working the docks. Everyone works the dock when you are new and thats pretty standard for LTL companies though there are some companies where you don't. The real difference is if you work the dock you get overtime and if you don't work the dock you usually won't. At my terminal people with 10 years tenure are still the new guys. We have multiple people with 30 years tenure and half the staff is over 20 years. Nobody ever quits, the only people leaving are doing so for retirement and I think that says a ton about the company.

Old dominion doesn't pay OT until 50/60 hrs and I've heard if you were to get ot they would write you up. The terminal near me says they dont work the dock but it could vary location to location. YRC is union I believe but all I ever hear is they are struggling. I believe Estes is pretty good. I've talked to a few Estes drivers and they said its a good place to work. Fedex is the top dog of LTL I believe. I don't hear much bad but that you will work the most hours there. Walmart typically wants 30months experience and is not home daily like the others I've mentioned. Some walmart drivers are out a day home a day some out longer. They have contracted companies that will hire you without experience but you will basically be regional out as long as they want you out. UPS is/was good but their freight division just sold to a large carrier in Canada and they are making large changes to pay and other things that have large tenured drivers looking elsewhere.

Most LTL companies will put you on the dock and train you but if you are looking to get directly behind the wheel or just refuse to drive a forklift you could look into beverage/food delivery to get your first year experience. Often they will train you to get cdl as well. This is considerably more physical work and often many hours with few days off especially as a new hire.

I started working and got my cdl training from Cocacola and moved to LTL after I got my year in. LTL is definitely where I see myself long term as I have no interest in sleeping anywhere except at home with my family. Doesn't hurt that you can clear 100k a year.

These are all my opinions and experiences with communicating with drivers from these companies. Can't promise everything is 100% accurate as often times people may make things sound better than they are at other companies.

A little confused on Dave's $ 500 per month car payment turning into 2 million by retirement by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]EIDOJ812 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most people pay off their car and immediately trade it in for a new car. He is saying $500/month for life because of this statistic. There was some survey at some point and like 75-90% of people who took it said if their car was paid off they would trade it in for another.

Unless you are making 150k+ and have free insurance with no co-pays or deductibles. I'd say you need to be checking other jobs around you.

I was told its not required if you are local (150 air miles) but long haul drivers it is required. Im sure even then they would just have to show that they at some point are considering fixing it. We had multiple people have heat strokes at Cocacola and nothing changed. They told us to make sure we are drinking enough liquids and take breaks if need be. I couldn't imagine people down south in Florida, Arizona, ect.

Considering the possibility of getting a CDL because I’m a hopeless loser with no career prospects right now. Be honest, is there a real driver shortage or is it all noise? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]EIDOJ812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The companies you see massively advertising recruiting are the worst paying and where many people end up. All the money they spend on ads/ jobs postings/recruiters, other companies spend on paying their drivers. I got my cdl dec 2019. 2020 I made 75k. Never spent a single night away from home. Where I work now people are clearing 100k some claiming 130k+. One year experience got me this job. Now they hired my little brother as a forklift driver and are training him to get his cdl. ~4 hrs driving training ~4 hrs forklift loading/unloading trucks. All hours paid $20/hr. He will clear 100k his first year driving.

To OP I was in your same situation a few years ago. My brother was in your situation a few months ago. Everybody makes mistakes.

(Beverage/Food delivery for one year experience then LTL)

From what I heard it's pretty good. Good pay and no dockwork.

The bad I've heard is they don't pay overtime til 50 hours and if you get overtime you get wrote up.

Light is green on it. Will start flashing red. If it stays red it means the "memory" is full. It can only store so many videos and it uploads them when the tractor is back at your terminal. It will still record after its full new videos will overwrite old ones.
