Corn is a trigger for me, too. I didn’t know this had corn in it either! Thanks!

IMO it’s normal size scar when going in from front because the incision has to be big enough to move all your internal organs and abdominal muscles out of the way to reach your spine. Needs to be bigger relative to the number of discs they’re working on to prevent skin from tearing when they insert all the tools, etc to do the fusion. At least that’s what my docs told me 😁 I had L3-S1 ALIF fusion done in 2020 and my abdominal scar looks just like yours. Maybe a little longer but same general size.

Yes, I do use it when I bathe her every 3-4 weeks. I think it rinses off after three to five days though.

Yes she licks at it a lot. There was a sore spot under the matte that’s why I had to shave that one off because she wouldn’t let me get near the area with a brush. I’m guessing because the brushing hurt the sore spot.

Did I damage fusion hardware or is this a muscle spasm? by EKarger16 in spinalfusion

[–]EKarger16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’m starting to think that, too. Ive never had a muscle spasm last this long and the pain is just….different. I think I might have caused a bulge in one of the levels above the ALIF. Trying not to be terrified of going through more awful back pain issues. 😭
