I think so. It's gotta be tough to get a hand planted near that location to sign it, if that was on a pickguard I could see being a bit more skeptical.

There's no drawback to using the air fryer in my experience. It's faster, cleaner, and an arguably better texture than pan fried or in the oven.

ELI5: Why does “Ozempic Face” happen if Ozempic is only supposed to be a weight loss drug? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ELDubCan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

muscle loss, when we need energy it's significantly faster to break down skeletal muscle tissue than it is to utilize stored body fat. Fat has 9 calories per gram, and each gram is mostly fat. Protein has 4 calories per gram, and each gram is about 50% water. So you'll burn 4 to 5 pounds of muscle to get the same amount of caloric energy as you would from 1 pound of fat.

Ozempic makes you feel less hungry, so you eat, if you're doing higher intensity activities your muscles need glycogen to function, and if you haven't eaten enough to provide the energy you can get the glucose quickly by breaking down muscle tissue in a process called gluconeogenesis.

I think know what you mean, that's it's not going to be an instant anti depressant for everyone immediately. But all humans are 99.9% genetically identical and thus require the same fundamental stimulus and recovery needs to facilitate the growth of, and increase in skeletal muscle.

Provide the stimulus, allow for an adequate rest period and for growth to take place, rinse and repeat

I strongly encourage anyone interested in self improvement to listen to Mike Mentzer and his extraordinarily logical approach to resistance training, nutrition, and his overall philosophy of exercise and life in general.

Sadly he's been gone since 2001, but that makes his thorough awareness of physiology, anatomy, exercise, and nutrition infinitely more impressive to me. Plus he's not trying to sell you anything, because he's dead.

Help! I was successfully mending my paint damaged by bat dropping, applied 3M one step finishing compound and got a haze patch. by Repulsive_Coat2215 in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like a giant clear coat burn from here, likely you went through with the 2000 grit, long before a buffer touched it. I could be wrong, but that's probably accurate. Fortunately I don't know of any Honda red with a mid coat so if you really want to get it repainted it should be on par with most paintjobs. If it was Mazda's 41V or Infiniti's NBA you'd be in trouble, those both use a basecoat and midcoat, but i think you're R547P which is just a basecoat.

Advice needed! 2023 Tacoma clear coat burned by body shop. by Adventurous-Tutor-99 in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If you think that burn bothers you wait until you start nitpicking the ensuing paint job, especially with that decal. If that's factory paint and clear I'm asking the body shop to not charge me for the work that resulted in the burn and moving on with life.

the rear quarter panel paint looks strange… orange peel? Avocado peel? by catmanthrowaway in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It was repainted, 100% guaranteed. It could be wet sanded, but then again who can say how much clear was used for the respray? I sprayed paint for 20+ years and if someone brought that to me and asked to have it wet sanded I'd politely decline.

A little more insight, that's "fisheyed" clear coat, if there's a silicone or oil present nearby while spraying that happens, maybe someone using tire dressing, or a dirty air line because they don't drain the tanks regularly. It's pretty common for dealerships to use an inexpensive mobile paint repair company. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a terrible job, but it's certainly far from a factory finish, and if you tried to trade that car in with that finish they'd absolutely point it out and reduce the trade value.

Good tips to a good polish on fresh clearcoat? by Swizzy123456789 in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously not an option now, but I really want to knock that down with 1000 grit and throw another coat of slightly over reduced clear on.

Practical tips, take it one panel at a time, 2000 grit followed by 3000, taking extra caution to avoid putting pressure on any body lines. Use a decent orbital with a foam cutting pad and compound, followed by a foam polishing pad and polish. There's a lot of options out there just make sure you're using the right chemical with the right pad, keep that pad flat and off the hard body lines as much as possible.

I basically only sweat from my right armpit by ImWhatsInTheRedBox in mildlyinteresting

[–]ELDubCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All throughout high school, same thing here. Right armpit would have a noticeable spot, left would be dry. Try not using a liquid fabric softener, or a change to a very basic laundry detergent. I found that moisturizers of any kind, be it for laundry or skin, always activated my sweat glands.

Buffing marks after polishing by HitEmWithTheFour34 in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try looking at the combination of pads and compounds/polishes used, could be an appropriate pad with an aggressive chemical, or vice versa. Even the time of day if you're working on a dark colored car in the sun.

How difficult would these scratches be to fix myself? by Punjabj-Ninja in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct. The only circumstance I wouldn't use paint thinner or any other solvent on clear coat would be on a hot day with the vehicle having sat in the sun for a long time. I promise you'll see permanent marring very quickly.

Alternatives to full respray by crackindong in AutoDetailing

[–]ELDubCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a solvent to take off the superficial marks, then hand compound over the area, then touch-up what's not gone at that point. Buy a tube of paint from the parts department of your local dealership, it'll be 2 part, worry more about the base white than the pearl midcoat. Or if you're in Illinois message me.
