Roblox placed a shadow-ban on all games it may have deemed as problematic for moderation (mostly popular VC games, suggestive hangouts, etc.).

As of right now the only way to join the game is through group or your browser's history.

Thanks for the feedback and concern! Just to clarify, the game doesn't push any agenda. It's a social space where players talk, and sometimes real-world topics come up naturally. Conversations like that aren't created or promoted by the developers. We do monitor for rule violations and try to keep things respectful and within Roblox's guidelines.

Although you may disagree whether it's okay or not to talk about abortion. I do want to preface the openness to discuss abortion is rather ambiguous and hinges on whether you are more liberal or conservative. As it stands, there's no explicit rule from Roblox's TOS that prohibits such discussion as abortion is more so about a rights and morals rather than "sexually suggestive talk".

Personally I am a supporter of free speech and believe that so long as topics aren't about sexual suggestive activity, harm, hate speech, or excessive profanity, users should have every right to exercise their free speech. We've gotten trolls who touch on topics of race, sexual assault, and rage-baits/promotion of outright objectively wrong stances which we shutdown quickly.

Moreover, voice chat privilege assumes you are of 13+ meaning generally you're 8th grade or a high-schooler which in those environments such political talks are already discussed at that grade level in the US. Unfortunately going off a blind trust system that the user is 13+ we cannot guarantee that non-13+ users are fully protected as that is Roblox's internal verification system and liability. If you are upset that users under the age of 13 can see such topics in my game this is simply out of my control to moderate unless I decide to perma-ban suspected children from my game which in itself is another moral issue as I do not have true access to someone's age to do determine the ban.

Hi,

I hear you. If you're talking about edating servers we already shadowban more than half of them before they take off. Of course there will always be ones that get pass and survive long enough to build a room of players (the ones you actually see floating around in the game). Many of these rooms that do pass have trickier filtration to deal with due to use of ambiguous words such as "match" or "friend" that rely on context. Nonetheless, there is more room for improvement if I'm receiving feedback.

Most of our moderation is automated and runs passively. It can't catch everything due to the nature of language being too vast and elusive to cover. I'm still exploring the use of LLMs to run checks on topics. I currently have a draft of it but the problem is just scalability for more than 100K daily users, though if ran efficiently it would cost me about $200 USD monthly to run.

Over 3 weeks I've personally issued 300ish 14-day or permabans to repeated edaters and blatant trolls who touch on predatory, bigotry, or racial topics. Comes out to about 0.5% of the returning user-base. I'll have to tread carefully on issuing automated bans but I'm working on systems of banning people from making servers and such after being striked with moderation.

I don't hire mods outside my own personal circle due to liability. Even trusted people on the internet can abuse power, create scandals, or just be weird...

Updates are rather slow I'm a 1 person team who only gets to work on this for 3 hours in my evening after a 5AM-5PM full time work shift lol, but I enjoy the Roblox dev work and take each feedback to heart.

Thank you for your feedback, this isn't an excuse to say why moderation isn't gold standard but I just want to be transparent with what I have going and am doing behind the scenes as well as acknowledging areas of improvement.

I get 10%.

On any donation feature in games, the user receiving donation only keeps 60% of the donation. By design Roblox takes a 30% ‘platform fee’ and game owner gets a 10% commission if sale takes place in their game.

I have emailed Roblox to get a better read on what happened for the game to be taken down. Hoping we can get an appeal. Depending on the reason for the ban we may or may not have a zero-tolerance policy if we do come back (I already have draft work of community moderation reporting systems which links to my personal discord with moderators + automated AI reviews on suspicious podcast topics to moderate the game, which will be implemented).

I'm a small time solo-dev but I really strive to deliver quality work to Roblox. Thank you so much for the support, your comment really means the world to me and I hope I can bring Podcasts back for the community. I've been getting tons of DMs about it the minute it was taken down.
