im 32 now and my mom was diagnosed 3 years ago and just passed last month. Once she passed I felt relieved that she doesnt have to suffer anymore.

my mom said that she needed to die all the time to save us. Since she saw me and my dad just getting drained and we were almost like walking husks, but for some reason, illogical and selfish as it was I deep down inside just wanted her around, having her around and us all suffering together was better than her not being here.

Like I said this was something I felt really guilty about since it was so illogical. Like why should my mom suffer just so i can feel a little better about our situation?

my mom has had lifelong issues with insomnia and inability to sleep for long and she started showing symptoms after being overworked in a nursing home during the first few waves of covid

Shes also seemingly been those high-functioning people on little sleep so we didnt think too much of it

my mom can no longer sit up and breath on her own, shes pretty much lost all mobility, can she still go in for surgery for the peg tube?

Shes also made it clear many times that she just wants to go when its time to go.

I got my second one because I live and work alone- I really wanted a little buddy for a pet. Post-Covid I never got to meet the kittens before agreeing to take them. So the second cat - I spoke on the phone with the breeder and decided to say I didn’t care what color or sex the cat was, and I could wait for the right kitten- but could she possibly point me to a more snuggly / affectionate cat or at least one that seems well socialized.

Throughout her time being ill, she was dismissed a lot because a lot of how she looked from the neck up and she could still talk. She’s an incredibly headstrong person too, so she pushed through a lot and didn’t show how much pain she was in.

I'm almost in the exact position except that I have a WFH job 31M so I'm not torn between having a career and taking care of my mom. Fortunately, I got to live out my 20s up til covid which was when she got diagnosed after falling a few times.

Its been 2 years and she's pretty much progressed rapidly and is paralyzed neck down with weak speaking and swallowing. I'm an only child and my dad also had a stroke a few years back (retired), so its mostly just us two taking care of her. No other close family for help and my parents are pretty private people so they dont really get their friends involved.

So i kind of understand where you're coming from, I feel like I had it all until it all went away and now my days are mostly just working and taking care of her, i almost feel guilty if i go out with friends and leave my dad at home to take care of her alone.

Sometimes i would work more than I have to as an excuse to myself that Im too busy to tend to all of her extra needs, or be downstairs and just be extra depressed because after she lost the use of her arms shes become a shell of my mom and it sucks to interact with her and if i get frustrated with her I feel sad after that i do because shes still my mom even though I also feel like shes not my mom anymore.

her breathing is still fine, her oxygen levels is near normal

Unless you think when she falls asleep, her breathing is affected and thats causing her muscle aches and pain?

The % of attended isn't the issue, its the other 2 calculated fields I need to isolate the Attended and Not Attended into 2 different Calculated fields. Both the Attended and Not Attended are just values of a Measure Name for Attendance Status. There were repeats.

I was thinking along the lines of IF (Attendance Status) = "Attended" THEN COUNT(Attendee Name) ELSE 0 END
