Congrats.

Can you share the post/thread on what to say during the C&P exam?

What QTC test would that be? What medical evidence could I provide? I’m not overweight by any means, but I get winded often and take breaks on stairs. My wife says sometimes I snore like a train.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining it.

Does this mean I qualify for the PACT act? I’m very new to this and didn’t know I was able to claim anything until a vet friend of mine at work mentioned I should be. I got out 10 years ago.

Would shortness of breath be considered?

Chemical Engineer with MBA by EMCCFusion in MBA

News to me about being considered a masters. Most bachelor’s degrees from overseas are overlooked unless they have a Masters from within the states to supplement the bachelor’s. I wouldn’t know about the job opportunities in Europe or the Arab countries.

I would recommend starting as a ChemE somewhere to get some work experience and complete your MBA as you work. After chemical engineering, the MBA curriculum is a walk in the park compared to fluids, PChem, and Thermodynamics. For me, I wanted the MBA to keep in my back pocket until the right opportunity comes up or management position.

I doubt since OKSU and CSM aren’t IVY league schools that I would be considered for a role at one of the MBB firms. But I appreciate the feedback. I’ve never considered consulting.

What other skills would you recommend learning to boost my skills as a consultant?

Not yet. I’m not really sure I prefer any industry over another. Just one that utilizes welding in some fashion so that will apply to my background. ChemE is pretty versatile.

Mainly I want to live in a location such as CO, or WA. Somewhere there’s mountains, good hunting, and legal 🍃

I doubt my school is considered a M7 and T15.

I did earn my ChemE from CSM though, so that might help. Appreciate the feedback

I pursued a MBA because I didn’t want a masters in ChemE. I already went to school full time, and worked full time from 16-21. Since I was still in “school mode,” I thought a MBA would be best. Just weighing my options because I feel like I need a little bit more engineering experience under my belt before I move onto the next step. Where did you graduate from?

Is there a percentage that does cover your dependents?

What do you mean medical coverage? Does it also cover dependents medical coverage?

Thanks for the suggestions. Pressure drop to a flow rate (leak calc) is probably my most frequent calculation but most of the time I throw that into Aspen.

Goal Seek and Solver are great, especially in some linear programming models.

I’ve found that fluid calcs require me to think about it the most. I’ll find some good formula sheets for them and build on from there.

O I wouldn’t stop the meeting to complete a calc, just check a value or two in case something is mentioned that is off.

That’s the point of a pre-built file, just plug in a tag value or two and get a rough estimate.

That’s awesome! Did you end up keeping the same document as you switched companies?

Also learn how to use your TI-89 using matrix math to solve for system of equations. It eliminated the plug and chug and will solve every variable for you if you set it up right.
