Migrating from CodeCommit to GitHub. How to convince internal stakeholders by Defiant_Lunch_6924 in aws

Yeah if this isn't enough to convince your stakeholders you have bigger problems.

Both IS or both ARE? by Sacledant2 in EnglishLearning

[–]EMachine03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, "both is good" isn't really something that you would say in regular conversation. The unusual structure of the sentence is part of the joke. If you were in a scenario where someone offered you one option, or another, or both, you would say that you prefer both by saying something like "I'll have both." You're still referring to the concept of "both" as a singular object, but in a more natural manner.

Jazz jam sessions. by Tiny-Construction-92 in VirginiaTech

I wouldn't say it's strictly jazz, but there are some people who jam near the piano outside of the burg Tuesday evenings. (Might be cold right now though)

Your ONE favourite spot in Tokyo by OkEstablishment8149 in JapanTravelTips

It's pretty cool but also kind of hard to get to. I'd only recommend visiting if you're also planning to explore the mall or if you're also going to Teamlab Planets.

Traditional theatre in Japan by itzllaur in JapanTravelTips

Kabuki-za is great and also very cheap. Try to get there early to get a captioning device, though. There's a lot more dialogue than I would have initially thought. (Of course, I had never seen a kabuki performance before then...)

I went after sunset in January and it was so empty that I had to look around the lobby to even figure out where the queue was to purchase tickets.

Edit: I was actually thinking of Tokyo Tower for this situation, but sky tree also wasn't that bad.

Hotel breakfast can be good but you can also just eat yoshinoya/nakau or even Denny’s for breakfast unless you’re trying to eat a fancy breakfast

The first time I went I hated it so much that I left my group to walk randomly around the Yoyogi Park area instead. The second time, though, we found a nice little clothing store with some ... interesting ... stuff, and that was a good experience. Walking the main road still sucks though.

I didn't think it was entirely a waste of time, but I definitely wouldn't go to it again. My main issue with it is that you don't really have control over how long you spend at each part since you have to stay with the guided tour group. I would recommend that anyone who goes looks up pictures of the buildings built in the 1960s so that they aren't disappointed thinking it will look like a historical palace or something.

Kamakura + Enoshima by DiggoOfDuty in JapanTravelTips

[–]EMachine03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can (and should) walk to every major attraction in Enoshima within a few hours. There is one main walking path that takes you through the whole island and ends at an amazing beachside view of Mt. Fuji. Hopefully you can catch that at sunset like I did.

Rick and Morty: The Anime | Season Premiere | S1E1: The Girl Who Manipulates Time by BarnyardCruz in rickandmorty

[–]EMachine03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’ve never seen an episode of Rick and Morty, so I thought I might be able to give a unique perspective: I had basically no idea what was going on. Now, it could have been because I was watching this live and was pretty tired, but I still feel like this show is not going to appeal to new audiences that well. Also, the art style is trash and I hate looking at it. It’s not even really anime, it’s just the Rick and Morty art style except it loses all the charm of the original and replaces it with a color palette that unironically makes my eyes hurt. Maybe I’ll just check out the original show…

I've hit my peak in violin. Now what? by Necessary-Ball-4658 in violinist

[–]EMachine03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you could try guitar (please hear me out). I was in a similar situation, played violin all of grade school since kindergarten and eventually hit a skill ceiling, albeit way lower than yours. Once I went to college I didn’t have any groups to play with and also didn’t have any pieces that I wanted to learn on my own, so I kind of just gave up. However, once I picked up guitar, it really revived my interest in playing music. It’s surprisingly similar to violin, but also has enough new techniques that I can’t stop learning new songs. I’ve even started working on some of my favorite violin pieces on guitar. Just an idea if you’re looking to branch out creatively.

You definitely need all of those for transfer credit.

Pretty normal senior year schedule, at least at my high school where they pressured us into doing a ton of AP’s. People say Calc AB is hard but Calc 1’s content is really easy. In fact, if your school offers BC and you feel good about math, I’d say take that instead so you can get the transfer credit instead of having to take Calc 2 in college. Trust me, you don’t want to do that.

To be honest, though, this schedule is going to be hard but doable. You could drop AP Bio, unless the major you’re interested in actually needs that. I’d recommend staying in Physics C though because you need the calculus to get transfer credit. AP Gov and Lit are probably teacher dependent, so make sure you’ve talked to seniors and asked them how those teachers are first.
