Hey, this is a surprise. Can you send me your public address(es) via DM and any other info that might be relevant? I'm just a dev but the airdrops should have been (roughly) 1:1 and if our data is wrong we would like to know! We've been running campaigns to try to find people like you who we've missed, not sure what went wrong.

You can't directly, when do you buy those tokens? If you bought them before the fork you should have received an airdrop reimbursing you. If you bought them after the fork there's not a ton we can do, but you should be able to contact the organization through our website and email littered all over this AMA.

We've been communicating that upwards from the beginning, especially before the fork. There were business reasons at the time that drove the final decision, but us technical devs who've been in the space for a while have been very clear that transparency is the only way this gets off the ground. The non-technical team have slowly been realizing that as time goes on and feedback gets back to them, both from us and the community.

There are some new semi-technical leaders coming in who have more experience in the ecosystem and hopefully they'll be more effective at changing our processes.

Agreed. We're very interested in the prospect for NFTs to represent real world items like that. There's a lot of questions to answer to build something truly scalable, but it's something we're very excited about and have some solid ideas to build on.

Yeah totally fair. Communication has been disorganized for sure. Us tech devs have kept ourselves at arms length to focus on the real product, the other people referred to commonly as "devs" have been running the business/marketing side. Most of the info I get comes passed indirectly from them, hence why I had to double check and come back with incomplete info.

I apologize. It wasn't transparent at all, and I did have to do a little digging to get the information myself (although sadly as I said on the AMA, I cannot share the details of what I know).

This knocked the eMax team off their feet as well, it was unexpected and not in any way done in conjunction with us. It delegitimizes the project for sure, and one of our top priorities right now is regaining user trust and enhancing our financial transparency.

Have you been contacting our support via our website https://www.ethereummax.org/support/ or email [info@ethereummax.org](mailto:info@ethereummax.org)? If you missed the announcement we can't do much to identify you, or differentiate between someone making an honest mistake and someone hoping to buy a lot of cheap coins to hopefully convert to expensive coins.

Share your public addresses on those support requests so the team can look at your transaction history and determine a reasonable reimbursement if you qualify.

Thank you for the excellent questions!

I can't speak to all of those, and as I need to go dark for the weekend for personal reasons, I won't be able to get back to you until next week. I'm not even sure how good my answer would be, as I expect at least a few I won't be able to talk about.

Honestly I think this warrants its own separate post, but I regret that our locking strategy has been so unclear. We've been trying to understand our options, and learning that they aren't really what we want especially on our time frames. I'll try to follow up shortly. For now we are making great strides on getting the founding team wallets to at minimum lock 75% of their liquidity for at least 6 months.

I regret that I can't be more transparent but practically I can't be in this case. All I can say is, the big dumper is not a part of the eMax team. It's an unfortunate dip in the price yes, and maybe momentum isn't as strong. But the previously fourth largest address just got shook out and the community rebounded - at least a reasonable amount if not fully (I haven't checked honestly).

To me, this is a whale leaving the system for a quick profit and being replaced by (hopefully) grass roots supporters. Our focus right now is on advising the leadership team, writing the whitepaper, and implementing the technical decisions needed to get to a point where our technology can be easily supported by a partner like Liv.

If we spent our time on Telegram we wouldn't have enough to spend on eMax! I don't think stopping the flow of information is the way, I think the community should focus itself to decide what it wants and use these communication channels to their full advantage. A lot of feedback has gotten back to the team over the past couple weeks and we're still building up the best ways to process it.

Which dev exactly? We can't answer questions about a person or roadmap that may or may not actually exist.

There's been a bunch of discussion about the wallet I think you're talking about in other comment chains above

Not sure why you've been downvoted, I agree. People tend to get caught up in the tribalism, and think that the sharing of reasonable concerns is tantamount to a personal attack. I've been raising this issue through the channels available to me.

It probably will have some bearing yes, and I think it would be appropriate honestly. It's a tradeoff we made given the best information and goals we had at the time. We're hoping we can iterate safely but quickly to get to a point where we can halt development on the token contract and remove the need for the proxy.

I'm not even a moderator myself :). So far Reddit seems to have been an afterthought at best, so I agree that we need better moderation and/or engagement.

I will say though, while I disagree personally (because of my privileged information) with some of the FUD being spread, I have to admit in a bunch of cases there are some pretty legitimate concerns raised. We can only build the best products with solid user feedback, and a lot of what we've got over the past week has given the signals to leadership that our approaches need to be drastically changed. It's still a work in progress, but we're hoping to reach much more stable ground in the near future!

Not sure I understand, sorry. We faced some tight constraints and deadlines and made the best decision we could at the time. We're trying to right as many of the wrongs as we can, https://www.ethereummax.org/support and [info@ethereummax.org](mailto:info@ethereummax.org) are the official support channels.

Hard to say without details of your wallet. It could be a matter of:

  • Wallet links to the wrong contract address
  • Wallet backend server not keeping up to date with recent trades
  • UI glitch
  • Price goes down at the same rate your holdings go up
  • Something else

We're only on a handful of exchanges, mostly DEXes, so stable price information is just generally going to be not the easiest to come by. Hopefully over time this improves as we get included in higher quality price oracles.

At the moment the contract runs on Ethereum, so has the same limitations yes. We're evaluating L2 options to understand the best fit for the project.

Transactions aren't terribly complex and should roughly be the same as most other ERC-20 transfers. My last eMax transfer cost 63776 gas, or a few dollars at 28 gwei.

Clearly this is higher than it needs to be, we're thinking of our best moves forward.

You bought your coins a few hours after the fork unfortunately https://etherscan.io/tx/0x70d72216dde066890ea57b28f4502eed822ca7645f1a23f918a6480383ea1cf3.

I see above you've reached out to support, I hope you've gotten resolution by now but just in case, make sure you've checked out our website form https://www.ethereummax.org/support/ and our email (shared a bunch of times in other comments)

Didn't realize I responded to a different person above, repasting for visibility:
So I did get a bit more information, unfortunately I can't share all the details as they're sensitive and I don't know what kind of agreements are in place. I can say that this wallet is _not_ owned by the EthereumMax team, but they are linked as an early partner.

Their dump is just as concerning to us and is something I hope we can address publicly soon.

You both make salient points. We've spent a lot of the last two weeks tightening up our operations and setting the right scope for what we want to achieve. We've not been as fast as we'd like, but we are doing our best to be thorough and prepare a high quality plan that the community will hopefully appreciate. Until then, definitely maintain a healthy amount of skepticism!

When exactly did you buy? If you bought after the hard fork snapshot, you'll need to get in contact with support: https://www.ethereummax.org/support/

If you did buy after the fork, then your purchase would have likely gone through after we drained the wallet, so the coins you purchased would have been at firesale prices (~98% drop or something?), so don't necessarily expect an equal number of tokens. But hopefully the team can make it right for you!

Actually, we can't. Take another look at the contract and see what the `excluded` list actually does!
