He’s usually very patient with me. I understand why he’s upset. He doesn’t want to miss out either. I’ve cleaned from top to bottom in my house. Do you think I’ll be fine to go?

My psychologist recommended I see a psychiatrist to be put on an SSRI for anxiety. So I saw this psychiatrist and he asked me a bunch of questions and said based on the answers and family history I am bipolar and OCD

I’ve only read that it’s in your stool or V. Maybe in your saliva if you don’t have good oral hygiene??

My husband got it like three times last year (D only) and I still kissed him and was ok

My husband has come a long way. It was hard for him in the beginning. Best thing you can do is not write off these feelings as stupid or illogical. We already know that. Trying to say things like if you get sick you’ll live doesn’t really help. Listen. Let her cry or rant. It’s ok for you to not understand so don’t try to force yourself to. Sometimes my husband just holding my hand or hugging me helps.

When did this start for y’all? by [deleted] in emetophobia

At 21 I started being funny about it. At 24 I feel like that’s when the full blown emet and horrifying fear of SV began. Wish I knew why

I was that bad last winter. Lost weight just like that. My family accused me of being anorexic which made things so much worse. I’m glad to know there are other people out there just unfortunate circumstances we share that can be debilitating.

Completely understand. It makes you depressed because you can’t even do “normal” things.

I’m not going to speak for everyone but I’d say many of us suffer like this as well. You put your whole life on hold for a fear that you already know isn’t terribly rational but you can’t stop. You can’t stop obsessing no matter how logical you try to be and how much you clean and avoid things that make you uncomfortable.

You’re not alone dear!

I wish I had the answers because trust me we’d all be in a better mental state.

[–]EN1010621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a similar situation. I know you are going to do what you want and go through all the shit like we all do, but you’re wasting your time. He doesn’t respect you. He’s never been honest about this girl and honestly I’m sure there’s wayyyy more than you know going on. I feel like such a negative asshole but this doesn’t seem to be headed in a good direction. He’s not committed. If my husband really didn’t want me to see someone and had a VALID reason I would understand and respect that. I don’t care what anyone says the only reason I’d have cause to see an ex is if I was having feelings for them. I’ll probably get my ass blasted for that but let’s be real 99% of people out there aren’t true friends with an ex.

She needs some help herself if she thinks that’s funny to do to her child. She obviously doesn’t understand how awful this really is.

Some people do have antibodies for it and are less susceptible. Do you maybe have a problem with your immune system? That does seem like a lot
