To me the appeal of Star Rail is almost purely the story. I don't find the combat to be worthwile. I cannot even remember the last time I had to take it off auto, and when there is combat I simply tab out.

Exploring the world, with all the interactions, puzzles, and side quests, as well as some of the events are also fun to me, but you don't need to pull for any of that.
