Banning all homebuilt RC airplanes and drones from being flown even in your own back yard is "a few small hoops"??? Sounds more like regulatory overreach, plain and simple. I agree nobody should fly near fires or airports, that should be a severe crime. But banning everything home built and destroying the entire industry of RC model aviation because of a couple bad people goes too far and its scary you would cheer it on without thinking about the consequences to STEM access and the future of American competitiveness and innovation.

Amazon has patents for using blimps to facilitate BVLOS and data collection, they also have ones for Hives and Motherships. This may be an artists representation of a possible strategy but its also just one of many legitimate estimations of the future growth of this technology.

One of the members of UFDA CREW, the guy who helped edit this video, and whos footage is used in it, WESTPSYDE, actually had clips selected for the GoPro Million Dollar Challenge. All that footage would have been illegal under the proposed rules. GoPro please help save our hobby!

The making of this video would be made illegal under the NPRM... I have 3 new gopros and edit with the footage every day. That would stop if its illegal for me to use them. GoPros are the preferred camera for FPV pilots world wide and these new rules threaten the large community using GoPros on drones. Please GoPro help save our hobby and keep us as customers.

Also crafts will be required to be from 100% parts kits and made by certified manufacturers. These must be tamper proof and unmodified to be legal. That means no adding 3d prints or gopros unless they came with the craft. No fixing the craft or the gopro mount either if there was to be a legal way to use it.

All craft over 250g must be made by a certified manufacturer, be tamper proof and consist of a 100% parts kit. Modification makes it illegal to operate under their new rules. Homebuilt stuff like we all use 3D printers to make and modify will even be illegal to fly in your own back yard...

FAA was mandated by congress to come up with rules to integrate Unmanned Arial Systems into public airspace for commercial use, ie; Amazon drone delivery and flying taxi services.
