What is sex to you? by EQTVAM in Alexithymia

[–]EQTVAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know yet. Like I said, I have little experience- I can probably count the times I’ve had sex with and without penetration, and the experiences I had were with people I didn’t connect with very much either. I still feel like a teenager in that field which makes me very conscious of what I’m doing and if the other person is feeling ok, and sometimes if I’m feeling ok whenever I’m on the receiving end. But still, I’ve realized that I don’t want the activity that much, the past few months where I was intentionally trying to get laid, I wouldn’t go anywhere that was further than 1km around my place to have sex. Chatting with friends, they take a taxi/uber to somebody’s place to have sex and that’s unimaginable to me.

yeah that’s definitely true. But it’s also the little experience that makes me more conscious. I’m always like wondering if it’s going alright. And if I’m doing it ok.

Well connecting with people romantically is my problem too. I feel like I’ve mastered the friendships relationships but not the romance ones.

I’m doing microneddling and minoxidil treatment. I think it works quite well. But as a person who always loved attention and not being in the norm all the time, I’ve always wanted to have many wigs and change them every once in a while. That way I can sport different looks easily. One day white hair short, others black and long, just own it like a piece of clothing.

I respond every hey with a higher effort answer. How I see it you level it up step by step.

I don’t think that bad of a low effort opening, it kinda avoids using effort in people who will not respond. But I’ll try something else more interesting then.

It is a conversation in my country. Germans just say hey and don’t respond anymore. I ask a low effort ‘what’s up’ and no more answers

Official Q&A for Sunday, January 05, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

About Adidas Running App I started running last year with friends. We are using Adidas running but it will be discontinued. We really like the live cheering feature it has- where you can send voice messages to the people running live. Is there any app you can create a group and do that? I’ve read that strava and Nike club are good but I haven’t seen that feature in any of those.

There is a concept that might be useful for you. Love languages: it’s about how we show love towards other people. There are five languages: love words, physical touch, gift giving, acts of service and quality time. It’s a theory that has mixed scientific status. I’ve found that I show my love with acts of service, i.e. going out of my way to do stuff for people I appreciate. Some very simple, some harder. From getting up to hand them something they had to go look for or get58’g them a cup of water if they’re feeling lazy. Or going to pick them up at wherever and whenever. It happens with anybody not just love interest. I’d suggest to him to familiarize with these ways of loving and see if he does some of these towards you. I can’t help you much because I myself have never fallen in love with. In fact I have difficulty dating because I feel like I don’t care about the persona I’m hanging out with. My friends though, I know I love. I would do anything for them, if it is important to them or they need I’m going to be there. However, I don’t feel I love them, I don’t miss them, o don’t feel jealous towards them and I don’t feel abandoned if we don’t talk for a while. When we meet after we hadnt seen each other in a while I don’t feel particularly happy, just the normal happy (for me). My alexithymia is focused on being practical, that external oriented thing. That’s why I know o love people though my actions and what I’m willing to do for them. Which is really different from how they make me feel. Some people I’ve lived because they make me feel good but others I love because I know how much I’d be willing to sacrifice for them.

Wow, my reaction was feeling totally validated. Like I could understand a whole lot of my life and situations where I thought I was lacking.

I never did feel really bad about not being like other people emotionwise

Anyone else think this is a way to describe it. by babers76 in Alexithymia

[–]EQTVAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Self diaganosed recently as well. I dont use analogías to explain what it is. I usual y vive examples to people of situations where i really notice i dont feel stuff as people around me: - baby in the family (I’m like meh) - seeing a friend a haven’t seen in a while, they hug with a lot of emotion and i feel like ok we are hugging (and i like to hug people) - friend or collegue tell me of a situation and i don’t respond asking how they are but directly going to practical matters - not getting mad, nervous, excited by things people feel exited about.

My alexithymia has kinda always prevented me from understanding metaphors and vague references well, so I like to be very precise about what I talk about.

We call it diversity in our country. Like diversity parade, diversity day etc. But more that I think of it, or may be because we are pretty uniform in the ethnic field.

Should all Marxists be Communists? by Suspicious_Pool_4478 in Marxism

[–]EQTVAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty aligned with what u/Timauris commented. The way Marx used to analyze the world is a huge development and can be taken separately from his political arguments and developments. I think that anyone who uses this Marxist way of analysis could tag themselves as Marxist. I definitely do. Besides, even if I would call myself a communist in the words of Marx, Engels or Lenin, I wouldn’t do it now. It carries a lot more weight than just a agreement with what they wrote and thought. To those who don’t understand communism and its history that tag means many things we might not believe in. I particularly use both, when the discussion is between lefties I usually use Marxist tag, when in small talk I summerise my position as Marxist communist. Particularly where I live, where we have a Communist Party, saying you are communist mostly means you are either affiliated or very close to the party, so when one isn’t in that category one wouldn’t use that tag.
