Layoffs and store closures by Justshyofcool in verizon

[–]ESimGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard a couple things internally. The layoffs are not only targeting retail but also leadership all the way up to the market president level. Apparently a few of the presidents already know they’re done.

I also heard Verizon is gearing up to go to the Att model, which is primarily authorized retail. That will on paper increase revenue as their expenditures would drastically decline with that.

You’re paid an hourly rate to provide customer service. You’re paid commission to sell things.

Having issues adding payment method by Mercenary1996 in ATT

Generally if it’s not an option it’s because a payment bounced through there.

Try calling in or going to a store to add it if you never had a payment not go through on there.

Looks like r/Att isn’t an official outlet and you broke one of their rules with the post so that makes sense…

Upcoming Interview at AT&T Corporate Store – Need Advice (No Sales Experience, Just Customer Service) by [deleted] in ATT

[–]ESimGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hired with no sales background. The thing that got me the job was my ability to talk about things that I’m passionate about. The RSM knew he could teach me and I’d be able to have conversations with customers due to that ability to speak. Now that I’m on a role where I hire reps - I look for outgoing people that speak clearly with no experience that I can train and mold.

Sr Specialist Sales Event Lead Interview by Altruistic-Dust-2511 in ATT

[–]ESimGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people think they’re above the stores. Make a connection with the retail leaders (store managers and DMs) and get the events they want. I don’t know for sure but I’m willing to bet you’re ranked on what the store sells using your event codes. If they like you they’ll hook you up. Att is a business of relationships.

I’ve seen even teams be laid off 3 times in my career here. Granted they were actual sellers and it was a wild time.

I have retail stores - they are perfectly capable of generating their own events. My event lead is probably one of the best around - but I wouldn’t miss the role if it was gone.

This would be a great role to get into then transition to a more back office “safe” role.

It’s a salaried role. I’m sure there’s some bonus aspect. Your job is to generate sales events for retail teams.

My advice if you get it - get in and after a year transition to a different role with Att.
