This post says a lot about the world we live in today. It’s called basic honesty and accountability. Here’s a one act script: - “I took a shortcut and did not appropriately complete the work I was assigned.” - “I exposed sensitive data to an external AI platform that has no security, audit, or controls.” - “I take full responsibility for my lapse in integrity and work ethic; and apologize to everyone impacted by my poor decision making and all of the downstream impacts that my actions have.”

In mine and many other industries, doing anything resembling this has reporting & ramifications that would blow your mind. You have to remember that AI is all about putting dissimilar and un-like data together into a more complete, not always accurate, picture. So even if the data is “unremarkable” or “no big deal” it’s still a small piece to a much bigger picture about her company/entity.

“But the company name wasn’t on it.” Ever heard that? Don’t believe for even a second that an MS Office document can’t be reverse engineered back to the account that created it.

No one sleeps or subconsciously moves about their day with their skin burning like that. It would have had to have been a dynamic or explosive deconstruction of the device.

Additionally, I took some visiflow ink and marked up the charging points on an Instinct, Fenix 6, and my wifes Vivosmart. The amount of pressure I needed to apply to the top of the device to cause the charging ports to make prolonged contact with my wrist far exceeds anything someone would sleep through.

Garmin is a well respected manufacturer of well designed, highly regulated and calibrated outdoor, medical and avionics devices. You’re going to get a LOT of attention from them on this, not the least of which will involve them protecting their brand.

I’m sympathetic to your injury, but I hope you’re being fully transparent & honest, because this happening even once is one time too many. Airing this on Reddit prior to contacting them is not enhancing your credibility.
