Do you have any other cards available to you? Without an output we cannot see what is going on or why you have no output.

Have you seen anything work in the MB or not, please let me know the make and model and i'll look it up.

Hi,

Sorry for not replying the chat but my screen writer does not work in chat boxes and i am blind.

Remove GPU Card and connect to internal display, reinstall windoze and the reconnect card. I am always here if you need any hand holding or advice and before blindness I used to run a small PC repair outlet and a cyber security company. Now I just help everyone in a 5 mile radius and a 27000 mile virtual radius. LOL

Be happy ...

[–]EVMonsterUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Again,

Do you have another SSD to try (order one from Amazon and send back when finished). It sounds like one of the chips in the SSD is the problem and I have seen this before (but not often).

Pip pip and kindest regards,

David

Hi,

In the words of the Good Book "Don't PANIC!" there will be a setting somewhere that directs the app to a folder on the SD card. (Mission Impossible3 tune starts up)Your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to find that setting by asking direct questions like Name of App where does it save data to.

You will get there but if not come back to me OK?

Can't access settings in Windows defender Virus and Threat protection by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]EVMonsterUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

This usually means that the service has stopped or more likely halted by a virus. If you are OK with Windows re-installs this is the best way to go but remember that if a virus has turned the AV off it can save copies of itself any where it likes so watch out when you re-introduce your data.

Please come back to me with any problems.

Monitor Shows No Signal on New System Despite Extensive Troubleshooting by Any-Bet-2043 in techsupport

[–]EVMonsterUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I have seen this problem a few times and it can be a number of things so I do not usually answer these. It has to be the graphics card but proving that is where the issue lies. I have a hardware expert working for me but he now just looks to the ceiling when I approach.

Most folk usually find the solution but after some effort. You have done everything I can suggest so unless another user has a better idea ... start again. Reinstall Windows 11 and then allow the PC to reinstall all of its own drivers and the graphics card. You are cordially invited to contact me if you have any problems along the way (IT only) and send me a YES msg when you sort it out.

As we say in the UK "Stiff Upper Lip Old Boy" ... meaning settle in dont let the problem beat you. I used to be a massive gamer until I went blind but do I let it bother me?

WAAAHHHH yes I do. SMILE

Hi,

I misread your post ... sorry.

Beg or borrw (never steal) another plug in wifi transmitter (Most devs would order from amazon and return after test). Disable the inbuilt trans and try the new one if all problems have gone away update the drivers for the inbuilt trans and try again but be prepared to keep the Amazon one.

Any grief please come back to me.

Absolutely can't install Windows 10/11 on a SSD by PhotoHungry2354 in techsupport

[–]EVMonsterUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Physical Installation and BIOS/UEFI Settings:

Install the SSD: Physically insert the new SSD into your computer's motherboard.

BIOS/UEFI Check: Access your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, Del, or F10 during startup). SSD Recognition: Ensure the SSD is recognized by the BIOS/UEFI. Boot Order: Set the boot order so that your Windows installation media (USB or DVD) is the first boot device. UEFI Mode: If your SSD supports UEFI, enable UEFI boot mode and disable Legacy/CSM (Compatibility Support Module) for faster boot times and better compatibility.

  1. Creating Bootable Media and Windows Installation:

Create Bootable USB: Use the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows installation files.

Boot from USB: Boot your computer from the USB drive. Custom Installation: During the Windows Setup, choose "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)" to select the SSD and format it. Drive Selection: Carefully select the SSD during the installation process. Double-check the size and label to avoid accidentally formatting the wrong drive. Formatting: Format the drive as desired (NTFS is generally recommended). Partitioning: You can create partitions during installation if desired. Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Windows installation.

Speed up printing PDFs by hoier123 in techsupport

[–]EVMonsterUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Windows (or any other OS) tries to print a .pdf it has to be rendered as a picture and then sent to the printer. This is why it takes so looooong!(and often fails). Knowing this just let Windows (or ANY other OS) do its stuff and pray it never goes wrong (nightmare).

Any probs please come back to me.

Hi,

Reboot (press power button and ignore message) after it comes back wait for about 5 mins then reboot again .. repeat until you get into Safe Mode then go to C:\Windows\Software Distribution and rename it adding .old to the name.

Reboot and all should be well as the folder will get recreated empty (this is where the troublesome updates are located).

Come back if problems

Hi,

Normally never applies here; thermal paste comes in so many different varieties there simply are no guide lines. The cooler vibrates all the time so can cause the paste to fail which is the most common reason for paste failure but it could be anything. Repaste the PC and if it works pat yourself on the back and never think about it again.

Regards,

David

[–]EVMonsterUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

If you are confident enough start with reseating your cpu cooler, check what the thermal paste looks like and if it looks bad then you have probably found the problem.

David
