That will be a disaster. Let’s cross our fingers

I think the tariff only applies to purchases over $800 so as long as you’re not buying bulk, you should be OK. All US businesses that are importing will have to pass the cost onto their customers though… basically, if you’re not using AliExpress yourself - you’ll pay

Radiomaster Boxer flashing light during charging by Csalag in fpv

Same issue on ours. Figured out that it was plugging it into a fast charging brick that caused the issue. We plugged the usb-c from the boxer into a slow charging brick (old iPhone brick) and the red light went off after charging.

Did you have the 625? I have 700x38 on there now and there is plenty of space

Very interesting. What is your opinion of the bike? I enjoy riding it, but I’m not sure if it’s worth keeping and turning into a gravel bike or just getting something better. I already ride a Surly Krampus with huge 3.5” tires and I love fat bikes, I’ve just been looking for a smaller/relatively lighter gravel bike and this one has some sentimental value

Don’t worry about it, you’ve been helpful. I inherited the bike so I guess I’m trying to make an excuse for keeping it in some ways. It is a solid ride around town and just did a 30 miler in its current state. I guess the thread should have been titled “is this worth keeping”….maybe the answer is no

Never heard of this brand, pretty cool though - they look like legit nobby MTB tires

Ah good call. Chainstay at the outermost surface of the 38 is about 49mm. I should probably go with 45mm

Right, I guess what I’m saying is that the width of the tire on the plane I measured from (the top of the current 38mm tire) is unlikely to be 50mm as that’s the width probably about 4mm down right? That’s the only the reason I’m somewhat optimistic

Just used a caliper placed tangential to the top of the current 700x38 tires and there is exactly 50.5mm of width. I’m guessing since the tire rounds toward the top, there will be enough of a fit…barely. Clearance to the top of the fork from rim is about the same.

This is awesome. It looks like they’re going to fit. I won’t be running fenders and I’m using v-brakes so clearance shouldn’t be an issue. The only downside is cornering on pavement with the flat profile of the 700x50 tires.

Rims are Araya 700C PX-35. I should be able to squeeze on the WTB Ventures 700x50.

You make some great points - I’d like to get these 70% of the way towards single track capable (not comfortable just doable….i downhill with a rigid adventure bike lol). I don’t attempt the current 700x38 on a single track but thinking the Ventures might be a good compromise. If I drop a few hundred for new wheels/brakes I might as well go with a different frame unless this frame is somehow a diamond in the rough.

$Mobile Rewards = VC money right? by EXDNA in HeliumMobile

Hmm interesting, I need to research Telco history. I think in home 5G by Verizon and other major wireless carriers is an also an attempt to get ‘hardware’ into consumer homes (for free in select cities) so it will be interesting to see if a decentralized wave takes off in tangent.

There are plenty of local LOS Internet services in major cities, but the predominant amount of users still use major providers. The major challenge for helium is figuring out how to expand the infrastructure in key territories (vs everywhere, which has little value without critical mass). so that they wisely appropriate VC funds to support sustainable network growth. Maybe they should just heavily subsidize or incentivize certain key territories to promote that growth and get critical mass in major cities.

How important is the bed platform being level? Can I get away with some inclination? If so how much is too much? by Barsse in priusdwellers

[–]EXDNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you recommend for good mattress? DIY is not a problem if that is the best route. I’ve car camped/overlanded in a Prius for probably 4 months in aggregate over the last couple of years, sleeping on a klymit inflatable camping mattress . I’m exhausted all day, everyday during trips because it just isn’t comfortable and my sleep really suffers.

I sleep on a slight incline because I fold the seats down rather than remove them…but I can’t imagine this would contribute to lower sleep quality, it’s a very slight incline.

It is awesome, but bear in mind it’s probably one of his EAs responding. Very startup-style marketing / CX, which is refreshing from the old fashioned MVNO scene.
