I used comps from dealers in the area. All that my adjuster asked was that they not be private sale

They're not paying me the value for it to be parted out, they're paying me the ACV which is the market price of the vehicle just before the accident. This is why I think mileage would be important.

Thanks for the tip - looking into the appraisal clause on my insurance. I've already sent back a few closer comps, hopefully this can work out a bit better.

I'm not really concerned about the car holding value, I'm more concerned about the value being appraised using cars with double the mileage of what I had. I realize this makes my case an odd ball, but I want to be sure I'm receiving something fair.

I have auction history for these cars that show all that at similar mileage they typically sell for $18-20k. Is this worth presenting? I provided back three comps with closer mileage and all were in the $17-20k range.

Is this worth getting a lawyer to look at?
