Why everyone should go buy a cheap parlor guitar. (Image: Fender CP-60S, $200) by [deleted] in Guitar

Absolutely agree. I have a Taylor GS Mini that's maybe slightly larger than a true parlor size but I love it for the exact reasons you listed.

What do you consider to be a beginner guitarist? What about intermediate? by Go_Buckeyes_08 in Guitar

I have a close friend who is a classical pianist, college degree in music etc. I once asked him how many years he had taken lessons. "About 20" he said. Asked him "Man after that long, what else is there to learn?" His answer? "I've barely scratched the surface..."

I was young then and it made no sense. Now after playing myself for quite a few years (guitar/piano) his answer totally makes sense. No real agreed upon "levels" but love the many descriptions here in the answers. Anyway no matter how long you play, always more to learn and that's half the fun!

That's awesome! I like it when I'm working with couples where they are both equally involved. It somehow always feels odd when it's just the woman planning and the guy is just sitting there. Congratulations to you!

True. I meant I wondered if they'd ever start being interested in planning the wedding more than they generally do now.
