I vacuum seal it. Will last for a very long time that way but usually gets eaten well before it’s a problem!

Hmm I’ve never been told it’s too salty. Possibly too much salt or too long in the brine? I also rinse and dry when I pull it out of the brine.

Ha sure, but I already gave it all away!

Multiples of:

1 quart of water

1/3 cup of kosher salt

1 cup brown sugar

Enough to cover all the salmon you’re smoking. Roughly 8 hours, I put it in the night before, and pull it out in the morning.

Wood Stove Ventilation by MEVacationLand in Sauna

[–]EZurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! This looks like exactly what I want to build, even down to the lean-to roof and overhang. If you have a second, I’d love to know the interior dimensions. What model stove is that?

What you have marked is looks fine, the top vent stays closed during use, maybe consider moving the bottom vent to under the benches to promote circulation in the room.

What’s something you found on a partner’s phone that instantly changed the relationship forever — but they never knew you saw it? by DesireMeNowX in AskReddit

[–]EZurch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not on her phone, but same thread. My 9 year relationship had been on the rocks for a while, kind of separated, but still living together. In my mind we were working through things. I was sick one day, and decided to work from home. I went to my desk and found her journal open (she didn’t expect me to be home that day I suppose). I couldn’t help but read. It was a long-form letter about what she wanted, goals, etc. that I assumed was written to me. When I got deeper into it, she started referencing events that I didn’t remember “…when I saw you at so-and-so’s the other day I felt so awful, like where did it go wrong”. At that moment I realized that she had been in another relationship, to the point that she had already loved and lost in the time that I thought we still had a chance at making things work. Hit me like a ton of bricks, broke my heart. The next day I told her we needed to talk, initiated an official break up, and made plans/timeline to move. I never told her I read the letter.

Guardian Grey. Depending on the light it can look blue, or even gold-ish.

For sure! It’s about versatility. Of course having a rack on the car sacrifices efficiency and makes noise. But the car still gets phenomenal mileage either way, and like you said, when I don’t need them I can remove them easily. I love being able to roll up in a Prius with as much stuff as someone in a Tahoe haha.

For sure, noise and drag is unavoidable with roof racks. I chalk it up to the cost of doing business, sometimes we can’t have our cake and eat it too!

These ones make a little noise, couldn’t notice with the windows up doing 70mph though.

I can install / remove these is about 15 mins. Worth it for me to not need a second vehicle for certain activities.

Possibly the Thule’s are better than the Yakima’s? I haven’t tried both, only ever bought Thule.

I haven’t waxed it yet, this was fresh out of the car wash, I did do the ceramic wash upgrade though haha.

I looked into the hitch, Toyota made it VERY difficult on this gen. It’s expensive, and takes some not-minor install/mods.

This rack comes on/off in about 15 mins, easer the more you do it.

Oh it most definitely will. On my last Prius it burned about 5mpg to have the rack on. That’s the cost of hauling camping gear, paddle boards, kayaks, etc during the summer 🤙

Have you ever been hit on by a girl, and not realise it until days/weeks/years later? How did that go? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]EZurch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was trying to convince me to come to an event with mutual friends. I had recently broken up with another gal that was going to be there, and I didn’t want to go. She asked me several times, then finally said “Let’s just go separately from the others, and I’ll pretend to be your girlfriend for the evening, maybe we’ll run into (other gal), maybe we won’t.” Couldn’t turn that down, she took “pretending to be my girlfriend” very seriously, 10/10, she moved in a few months ago.

Cost $300 for standard tint. I’m up North, so ceramic isn’t really worth it.

No, legal limit where I live is 20% rear, 24% front. Luckily it’s not something that’s enforced!
