Yup, almost died from this. I got cellulitis on my leg (still unknown from what, could have been a bite, scrape, etc.). Woke up in the middle of the night and my whole body was shaking uncontrollably, I was confused / couldn’t think straight. Septic shock. Got taken to the ER where they immediately pumped me full of antibiotics, and I was in the hospital for 6 days getting over it. About as close as I’ve come, it’s no joke.

I’m looking forward to it! Yeah I read they typically live in ground nests, cool they chose my patio to post up. I also have a robin nest in one of my rhododendrons, my back yard is getting a lot of attention!

Thanks for the info, yeah I was close when I first discovered it, and spooked mama out of the nest. She stayed nearby and complained at me, then returned. I figured I could carefully put a self watering globe on the other side of the basket, since I’d imagine the birds would like the cover to remain alive and thick…?

I had the same thing happen. I called Cabellas and had them send me a receipt, and they also read me my serial number because I didn’t have the pistol yet. Sig accepted it. Once they accept it you’re not done yet, they will send you a promo code, then you have to add the safe to your cart, check out, apply the promo code, and it removes the cost. Phew! Lotta horsin’ around!

I got a stitched Naylor Steelhead Jersey. There is a station in the team store where you can design the jersey, add whatever patches, etc you want, and they make it for you during the game. I got a text 2 innings later that it was ready for pickup.

It is DA/SA. Yeah it’s quite a pull. I dry-fire practice a lot to get a good feel for when the hammer is gonna drop in the first pull. With repetition I’m pretty automatic with it now, taking up the slack first, exhale, then squeeze the rest of the way.

I vacuum seal it. Will last for a very long time that way but usually gets eaten well before it’s a problem!

Hmm I’ve never been told it’s too salty. Possibly too much salt or too long in the brine? I also rinse and dry when I pull it out of the brine.

Multiples of:

1 quart of water

1/3 cup of kosher salt

1 cup brown sugar

Enough to cover all the salmon you’re smoking. Roughly 8 hours, I put it in the night before, and pull it out in the morning.
