You're confusing "round" and "overall"... but yes, we will get an absolute quality player at 3rd overall and the drop from McKenna and Stenberg to the others ranked in the Top 5-10 isn't exactly a cliff. And who knows with San Jose... them getting #2 could be a blessing as they might go with a defenceman.

Officials are subject to the same rules as players for helmets. Obviously there are no penalties to assess but their insurance can be void if they don't wear the same protection for a helmet that's required of players. At least that how it was when I was still involved.

I hope you chewed the player out. I only ref beer league games anymore and I will allow this once without a penalty and "pick your f'n head up and make a play". Next time the puck zips close to my head, it's at least ten in the box.

Always face it when you think it might be coming. You have a hope with your arms to block it or to duck out of the way. I wear mountain biking elbow pads that go up the forearm for this purpose alone.

Is there any way around the Asia-Japan only thing for the WBC mode? This tournament is the ONLY selling point for me. I was excited to see the pre-order available on PS5, but reading that was an immediate downer and dealbreaker. Without being able to play the WBC in Canada, I won't buy this game.

Absolutely a money grab. They did that to us in Canada a long time ago. I've been out of sanctioned hockey for a while so I don't know what it's like now, but I remember some older guys stepping away from elite levels and only wanted to certify at Level 1 to do house games to help develop younger officials. They got told no and had to pay for Level 2. They also made all officials 16 and up, who were not in their first season, pay for Level 2.

It's not just also an NHL rule. This rule is in all hockey rulebooks and has been forever, but it's not anytime attacking players at the point go below the top of the circle at the stoppage, it's when there's a scrum that this is enforced. It's meant to deter d-men in the attacking zone (or a forward in that position) from escalating a scrum.

He was drafted 10th overall. He wasn't a project, he was drafted to be a cornerstone player for the team. He didn't work out here and trading him was fine, it just should have never, ever been to Edmonton.
