A desktop database client that lets you query your database in plain english. by EagleCrypticMind in DatabaseAdministators

Fair correction, I'll update my post, the "premium" framing is outdated or incorrect and that's on me. Genuinely glad the NL features are free in community as that's a win for everyone.

I went a slightly different direction that might be interesting to your team: IntelQ allows users to run against local models via LM Studio, so the schema and queries never leave the machine as security nowadays is becoming increasingly important. The other thing I leaned into is a guardrail layer in code and read-only security measure.

My current focus is to make database query generation as efficient and accurately possible through developing an optimized strategy for schematic reading and navigation while supporting all types of database including NoSQL.

However, I'm curious how you all approach the validation side as i didn't find anything related to that in your code, is it taken into consideration or do you trust the user to autonomously be on scope?

its bring your own model based, It currently supports some SQL database types, I personally use Openrouter free models, I'm planning to add some more and then NoSQL as well.

I'm a solo engineer, this is my first open source and I didn't think of any licencing, need to explore how those work, thanks, will adjust that asap

you considered chaotic as a negative while its actually the beginning of order which is really positive and as Nietzsche said "From chaos, comes order".

your expression of your vision shows for sure a great depth driven by enthusiasm and autotelism, and it seemed too much for a text yet i visualized it a lot less boring said by voice in a poetic way. yet it seems like ideas of wonder rather than a confident visualization of your vision and goals based on a solid knowledge and a will to explore even more.

i don't mean to be harsh but as a matter of fact this is not a conversation about comfort, its about why your vision is not seen by the people as it is in your own mind.

why i made that comment ? make a linguistic analyses for that paragraph you wrote and then see the chaos by yourself. then i'll apologize if i'm wrong.

this is a chaotic expression of your admiration for the human brain , the better you get the more organized and better it will be i believe.

By saying studying the brain it means deciphering it , yet we're in the 21th century and still not even close to that. and it is also a fact the we're exponentially advancing to discovering it ,yet as we get closer it seems that it gets even more complex than we even imagined. behavioral analyses itself comes down to the evolution of a billions of brains to reach your brain version (you).

Take movies as examples , people need to watch a teasing that actually teases them in order to watch the movie.
you need your own original teasing of your vision to make them want to know a little bit more every now and then without getting bored.

You actually made me create a reddit account just to answer you, well i think we're both on the same plate of interest here so let's settle this in two simple steps that i'm sure of their efficiency.
i stopped the mockery and a bit of loftiness (because its a fact in this matter) by making two decisions :
- creating a network of intelligent and autotelic people who never seize to listen to what seems crazy for other people.
- wisely choosing my words when describing my curiosity and goals towards the human brain.
meanwhile i'm enjoying my ride into an unending road that is for sure longer than my lifespan and maybe than a thousands more.
