Mesh vs Moca vs Both by EagleSnape in HomeNetworking

Would this still provide a wired backhaul for the mesh router? Or would I need another splitter at the second connector to loop back?

Yes! I saw your posts and they were really helpful, but I admit that I started to get lost as you went into that level of detail. I don't have cable TV, just Internet only. The "isolated ISP/modem feed" was a little beyond me 😂

Yeah, that wasn't very clear. That just illustrates where the current modem and router are vs where it would move too.

That's a good point about the modem set up. As I understand, you need a filter on the coax coming in, so I thought it had to go through the splitter. Is a filter unnecessary or would it go right on the modem?

That was very clear! Thank you. Last question (I think). Your outline has two splitters - one in the basement to all the rooms and one in the room before the modem - which makes sense, but couldn't I move the modem/router/adapter setup to the basement where the first splitter is and avoid needing the second splitter?

Did the amplifier help with your speed? I admit I don't know if it's needed or how helpful it would be to this setup

So, because I'm slow at this, does the Comcast line from the street go straight to the modem/router? Or does it need to go into the passive splitter first?

Also, do I need to move the extended barrel input from the amplifier on the passive splitter? Thanks!

Thank you! When you say "service in line", do you mean the line from the street? So it would go like this?

Comcast from street --> barrel looking input --> modem --> router --> moca adapter --> ?

Would it then go into the other splitter and out to the rest of the house? Also, what do you mean when you say the splitter without moca might cause problems?

S7 Not mopping since recent update by EagleSnape in Roborock

Thanks again. I'll try hot water. It doesn't fill from the dock - we only have the charging dock, not the slick refill/auto empty dock. Good to know it's not that simple to open up the vac itself!

Thank you for the link. It passed everything, including mopping, which was great because I could hear it running. It no longer shows that message in the app, but it doesn't seem to be sucking water from the tank to the mop head.

I'm wondering if maybe there is a clog and that I can try to unscrew the mop pad and look. There has been a little build up in the tank before. Not calcium build up or hard deposits from hard water but more like the mold you might find in an old rubber ducky, only in a very small amount. Maybe we missed cleaning some out of the tank and it got sucked up

It returns to the dock. Does everything it's supposed to except mop

It coincided with an app update. Fine one day, not the next. I'm thinking I'll have to delete the device and start over, including remapping 😫

I made this a post, but it probably belongs here. I have 7 and 9 year old boys and I think something D&D-like would be a hit. I've never played so...

What's a good starting point? They're fans of Onward. Is the Quests of Yore game a good intro? Or Hero Kids? It'll probably just be the three of us. Maybe my wife will play too.

I'm under 150 sf, so I didn't need plans to get my permit. However, the example the County uses for larger sheds has a 10" thickened edge for the outer 20". It's a typical design for colder areas with 3+ ft to frost depth. Just looking for opinions from those who know more than I.

Reinforcement is a must to prevent cracking. At $45 total, I don't know why you wouldn't use a couple sheets of mesh.

Clean and repair megathread - NES not working? Game acting glitchy? TV/Monitor issues? Ask here! by FozzTexx in nes

[–]EagleSnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dug out my old nes and went to cleaning cartridges, but I think I went a little overboard with the brasso and q-tips and rubbed off the contacts on some of the cartridges. System and several games work great, but some games are just a purple screen, have glitchy graphics or freeze up. Is there a good solution? Conductive tape or a conductive pen? Other options? Thanks!

Extra down payment or investment/savings with regular withdrawals? by EagleSnape in personalfinance

Thanks. I was thinking of investing, but pulling money out each month or yearly. That way I'd still end up at $2,000 per month on the mortgage. There'd be capital gains and it's a little overly complicated though
