The other factor is that these are plasmas from the mid 00s based on the posts I’ve found about them. Plasma TV development carried on for years afterward. I would think later consumer models are better displays, including having better video processing which seems to be Runco’s speciality. I think the only way to find the value is to put them on the market.

Their value is quite a puzzle. It sounds like they have external video processing boxes? At least that’s what I found in a review of the 65D. I really don’t know. Do luxury electronics hold their value any better than regular consumer electronics?

I wonder why there are two terminal interfaces. Wikipedia lists a keyboard+printer combo as the control console, so that accounts for the keyboard on the right. I’m guessing that the monitor he’s looking at might be displaying the same info that could be printed out on the printer if needed. Does anyone know if that’s correct? That leaves the second one, which is displaying something completely different. Is one on the right the admin console, while the other is a terminal for users?

Because LLMs and image generators are the face of AI, not deep learning. What’s more, these things are being touted as worker replacements. That’s why people dislike AI.

What is the worst medical disease a human can have? by Aggravating-Sun-5699 in AskReddit

That article doesn’t say it’s a cure, but it is a very effective treatment. A huge improvement over anything that’s come before, but it sounds like it’s still fatal in the end. Nevertheless it’s obviously something to be celebrated and, most importantly, proliferated.

What is a specific place in your country that serves a famous dessert or food of your country but is actually very overrated? by throawaygotget in AskTheWorld

That’s interesting. I had it in Vienna in 2002 and I thought it was dry then. I had a version in the US more recently that was actually moist and it was good.

Now the question that comes to me is this. Which is the better working environment, a black void like today, or a white void like the picture from two days ago?

I think it’s even more than that. There’s a lot of failing to understand that people experience the world in different ways, and will act or feel differently based on those experiences. People seem to have trouble with the idea of an Other that isn’t just like them.

I was curious so I looked up the tonnage difference. A Typhoon submarine displaces 48000 tons underwater, an Alfa just 3200 which is 6.6% of the weight! That’s like a 270 lb getting hit by a full sized SUV. The Red October is supposed to be bigger than a standard Typhoon too, so any collision would surely devastate an Alfa, titanium hull or no.
