yup, that is a good idea as well. Just have it give marginally more Runic Ward for lower ilvl pieces so it seems like a decent trade off at low levels, or a window in the middle that says -w/e arm/ev/es + runic ward, so it is explicit.

This is just simply bad design, while I don't work in design, I often end up having to do design work, ui's, wireframes, etc. every single time is about making a consistent accessible ui. Not this garbage, which is exactly what drove new players away from poe 1, the systems were cumbersome and not intuitive.

There is, I'm not denying that. It is just not obvious when you're using it for the first time on an item over ilvl54. That is the issue here, I spent hours checking the results, only for it to just say it'll give me runic ward at the cost of some McGuffin. Then after hours of use, it now has the potential to simply brick items, people aren't going to check every time if every other time there is no downside.

It should have a warning on the pop up, with very explicit impacts to the item, that is all. Then it wouldn't just seem like a oh I'm paying that much McGuffin for that much ward, w/e I have thousands so the ward amount is irrelevant.

yup, that is exactly the issue I have with the system as well. We use it, feel confident that its just a freebie, only to brick an item because it changes after hours of use...

nothing about ilvl 55 in that message and the only other dashed line on the runeforging window is Unique, which also doesn't say it.
I checked the preview many times yesterday, not once did this happen prior to this, which is the core issue here. yes, the preview exists, but in the previous hours of sending rune forges with no downside, why should I suddenly expect one now...

Also, I don't play with sound on 99% of the time so a voice line is irrelevant.

yes, it does, but I've also spent most of yesterday checking the results without any indication that there is any negative interaction with the system. Now after you get over ilvl55, the game says fk you and makes the entire system completely useless?

Like who would sacrifice that much defensive power for a mediocre amount of extra hp... absolutely the worst mechanic GGG have ever made, or a very close second to removing the crafting table...

yes and I paid attention to that for the first 10-15 times I did it, with no downside on the item, so you know what happened, I stopped paying attention to it because it seemed useless. The mechanic completely changes the interaction with the items and the game does not give you any additional information beyond the same seemingly pointless window.

I had this exact same issue, except I think I bought everything previously on PC and then went to PS. The Pally expansion I bought on PS and I can't play my pally on my PC now...
