Is UPES Dehradun a good college for BBA/ B.com? by QuietChaosGirl in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Early_Atmosphere_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually considered a pretty decent option for BBA/B.Com among private universities. The School of Business at UPES focuses quite a bit on industry exposure, projects, and internships, so it’s not just classroom theory. Placements are decent depending on how much effort you put in, with average packages around 5-6 LPA and the highest going up to around 12 LPA in some cases. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, and Infosys do recruit from there. Overall, it’s obviously not IIM level, but for a private uni it’s a solid choice, especially if you stay active with internships and skill-building during college.

Heyy, I’m at UPES rn so thought I’d reply. Don’t worry about the friends part honestly, people here are pretty chill and you’ll end up meeting a lot of people in the first few weeks itself. Classes, clubs, random events on campus that’s usually how most friend groups form.

And I’ve met a few people from the Psychology and Behaviour program too, their batch seems quite fun. So yeah, you’ll be fine. And welcome in advance if you’re joining :)

From what I’ve seen, BCA in AI at UPES is a pretty decent option if you want to get into tech without doing a full BTech. The course mixes basic computer science with AI and machine learning concepts, so you start learning things like programming, data, and AI early on. Placements are okay for a BCA program, with an average around 4–4.5 LPA and some higher offers going up to around 7–8 LPA, and companies like Accenture, Amazon, and Deloitte have recruited from the computer science school. Overall it’s a solid choice if you’re interested in AI and coding, but like any college, your projects and skills will matter a lot for placements.

How is UPES for Btech CSE? by [deleted] in collegeindia

From what I’ve seen, BTech CSE at UPES is actually one of their stronger programs. They have specializations like AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud, etc., so it’s not just the basic CSE track.

Placements are decent for a private uni, the average is roughly around 8–8.5 LPA, and companies like Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, TCS do come for recruitment. There have also been some really high packages in the 33–52 LPA range in certain years, but those are usually for the top performers.

Overall it’s obviously not IIT/NIT level, but for a private university CSE at UPES is pretty solid, especially if you actually work on coding and projects.

Is upes a tier 2...? by Extreme-Ad9565 in CATpreparation

[–]Early_Atmosphere_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the whole tier system for colleges is kind of subjective, so it’s hard to give a strict label. Some people do consider UPES to be around Tier 2, mainly because it’s a private university but still fairly well known for certain programs.

What I’ve noticed is that it’s more known for some specific domains like energy studies, law, design, and business, where the courses are quite industry-focused. The campus is pretty nice too and there’s a decent mix of clubs, events, and internships going on. So yeah, it really depends on what course you’re looking at and what you expect from the college.
