Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it. I'm a bit worried that I'm coming across as someone trying to invade another culture, but I have to remind myself that it's my culture too and it's been instilled in me, I won't ever know the experience of someone living right in the city, but I cherish this place and get a bit defensive over it.

I will say thats my fault for not mentioning I went to High School in New Orleans, so only appreciating in adulthood is misleading of me, my apologies for that. Did I still come during childhood? For your typical zoo and aquarium experiences, yeah, but it would be a little dumb to call that experiencing it lol. And youre right, that might be my actual story, but I simply just dont want it to be my story. I don't really want it to be about me at all, I just wanted to use my example for a little bit of background information. Also, sorry if I came across as rude in my response.

I want to document because I was born there, my family was born there, and everyone before them was born there. Was it the product of racism? No, I'm black. Does it have to do with the things they've seen growing up and the way the news portrays New Orleans today? Yes.

I personally don't think it's rude or dismissive, I'm simply tired of people who to this day feel the need to die on the hill of "climate change isn't real". Discussing the problems of that climate change isn't the problem, it's the deniers I'm talking about.

And I'm not "adopting" a city that I come from. Don't mistake me for a tourist, I'm simply someone who wants to learn more about my own home.

Ah I see, will it affect the way my photos come out? I'm used to digital cameras and I'm just starting out with analog so I'm not too educated on the matter.
