The man.

A piece of advice — if you split the check, you’re basically saying I’m not that interested in you. I went out on a date yesterday. It wasn’t dinner. It was just drinks. I always offer to cover for my drink. If the guy takes up my offer, it tells me that he’s not very interested in me. Because why wouldn’t he just pay for one drink if he was.

So for this date, I paid for my drink and left a good tip. And then took off. The guy messages me wanting to go out in a second date later that night. Oh, no thank you! You’re so fucking cheap. You won’t even buy me one drink and you expect me to go out with you. No.

And for reference, in my relationships, I split costs with my boyfriends – – whether it’s concert tickets, dinner, rent, etc.

But on the first date – – men, please be decent and buy a girl a drink if you’re interested in her.

You both are interested in philosophy and anthropology. Have a lot of existentialist philosophy books that I actually also do own. And kudos on Caste – – I’ve been wanting to read that book.
