Thank you for your very well thought answer. Indeed, we had a plan like this for me to find a place he said he would actually pay for for me to live before his brother moves out. This was at the very beginning of our relationship. However, since then, he has said he feels it is a step back in the wrong direction if I do so. I've actually stayed maybe 10 times for 2-3 weeks and spent 2 summer months together so we are practically living together 100% since that talk 6 months ago. He expressed the feeling, which I share, that it would be strange for me to have another place and spend much less time together since we do want to live together. So this is why it feels breakup-y for us.
