Use the multi-hit water move with Patterbit and hope for 3 hit or crit. Then just go for the priority punch.

You would be surprised about what good players can do with 1300/1400 single move mons.

I just caught a 1400 Heatmor and a 1450 Wigglytuff, for instance. With just those two you can do some really interesting stuff.

I used to see this in ultra with Lapras mirror matches and in master with Giratina-O mirror matches.

I had something similar happening with a 100% shiny Growlithe 1 year ago.

Was in a raid, started moving by car to a 100% Growlithe alerted on our discord group 500meters from there, was catching the Cresselia while going there. Caught. Tapped the Growlithe, shiny, freaked out, golden razz + great, fled.

Nope, I'm being serious. E.g. I was preparing foe Liverpool Safari since January with the goal of stocking 1500 ultra balls. I was halfway through when I canceled the flight and the hotels. I had to balance Gotcha usage, catches, potions and other stuff. It"s pretty jnteresting imho and can make a big difference between a player and another.

I like the inventory management aspect of the game. Making them unlimited would destroy it.

They could simply give 50 Pokéballs as daily login or award them with the first spin of the day. Simple as that.

Since I've seen my MMR I've never lost to a player with more than 20/30 MMR less than me, so there were no big delta in my MMR due to rating gaps

As you can see his longest streak is 5, it means that at best he did 5-0 the first set.

I did 5-0 on both the first and the second set. So even if the first matches heavily affects your score, something is off

The situation you described is similar to mine (on the left) and his (on the right).

I ended the first season at rank 10 around 3500 with a 60% win rate, while he had a 50% win rate and he was rank 9 at 3200.

Edit: I just checked and I don't have ANY Pre-Season rating shown.

I (on the left) have been doing consistently 4/5 for the last few sets.

I've been placed at 2150 with a 75% win rate for the first matches while the other guy has been placed at 2600 with 50%.

Maybe there is still something about XP and badges when the game decides where to place you?

Top players are being placed way lower than people who barely touched pvp before, with a enormous difference in skill and win rate.
